Any determined burglar can break into a bike shed, though options are more restricted if it is in thr front garden. But then again, one could attack such a shed in the small hours. People seem to suggest on the EDF that if you are going to secure a bike outside, it needs to be to a securely concreted purpose built metal loop (I don't remember the name, but search it on the EDF).

Salsaboy suggested Lets ban old people from supermarkets at the weekend. Not a bad idea! It would be quieter for them to shop during the day, in the week. It maybe that it hadn't occurred to them to change their habits of shopping on a Saturday?! Just a thought -
