  1. Hey, I can do Tuesday morning but I'd need to leave around 12noon-ish, the Plough is nice, or any of the cafes on Lordship Lane, or that new cafe next to Peckham Rye Park? Thanks on congrats! Jenni
  2. Hello, I have a two week old baby boy, my first. I'd love to meet up with Mum's in the area, please let me know ... Alexa I am going to Townley Road Breastfeeding cafe thing this Monday, but I could meet up the week after ... not on a Monday. I am up for any coffee mornings etc. Jenni
  3. Hello, Is this Friday coffee afternoon still on? I am due my first child on 5th April and would like to meet other Mum's to meet up with for coffee's or playdates with baby, let me know if it is still on, I have work getting done on flat that day but hopefully it would be finished early enough to pop along. Jenni
  4. Ta to all, I think it'll all be groovesome wonderful, or something like that. I lived in Edinburgh city centre for around twelve years and know their was lot of reports of unpleasantness in papers at certain times but I always felt safe there and never encountered any hassle, don't intend on walking round waving a Gucci handbag and shaking anytime anyone under the age of 20 walks by so (I don't even own a Gucci handbag - not my thing)I'll take my risks like the rest of you, doesn't seem to be doing you lot much harm! I guess if you're smart and aware their isn't much more you can do - well, their are always quackquacks methods - tee hee!
  5. That is all mighty reassuring, glad I checked out local opinion here, looking forward to getting settled in and enjoying the area, Jenni
  6. I was told when I viewed the property that a lot of the kids that used to hang around over the last ten years had grown up and moved on mostly. I think the area is lovely and in ideal proximity to lots of things that well outweigh not particularly liking people hanging around on the street or at the end of the road - if that is what it is still like! I checked out the area in daylight and in the evening and it seemed fine. It is always good to know the negatives as well as the positives, thanks for all the feedback, it's appreciated. Jenni
  7. Cool, scenic will always win out if the time is much the same!
  8. Thanks, I will do, won't be there for few months but will check in then, I was aware of the flats but they look pretty well kept, I can vouch for council tenants not being all bad - being one myself at the minute, go easy, J
  9. Two more years of studying and I shall! In the meantime I'll try above routes via pedal power, 15 minutes cycle in is really good timing, best dig out my helmet, don't wear one here, ta for that, J
  10. Be honest - if their is anything simple and nice you can say then go with that, don't complicate it and every time you write a version read it out loud - keep reading it out loud - preferably to anyone who will listen and you'll be more confident by the time you get round to it, I have never been a best man but i am a writer and convincing words sound best if they're honest, simple and rehearsed. J
  11. I will not be at the safer end you say Louisa, will just have to put up with the kids hanging by the flats - the flats don't look so bad from the outside? J.
  12. That's fabulous, can't wait to try it out soon as I'm in, thanks Louisa, Jenni
  13. Hello, Thanks for that info, it is great to find out these things before I move in. This forum is a great resource, really glad I found it, I'll take your tips on the walking thing also, I like the exercise and don't walk around looking like I have much of value for mugging! I previously lived in Edinburgh city centre for twelve years and I avoided a few areas but other than that it felt safe enough to walk around anywhere at most times. I'm looking forward to having Peckham Rye so close by for sitting reading a book in the summer or whatever - I'm in Norwich presently and the parks all seem pretty far apart. I'll check out the safer neighbourhood team also, it's nice to know a community sensibility still exists, go easy, J.
  14. Hello, I am wondering if anyone walks or cycles to Greenwich from East Dulwich? I googled the map and I think it is just under three miles there - going to be studying in Greenwich and I'd much rather walk or cycle if possible! Any info gratefully recieved. Also - does anyone know of a job forum specifice to East Dulwich/surrounding areas? cheers Jenni
  15. Hello, As it says above; does anybody know if this area is okay to live in ... i.e. safe enough for female coming home late in evening etc. Ta J
