  1. Why not get a local carpenter to do the job? These big door company's just charge extra for glossy magazines and high paid sales people when it is a carpenter who fits the door anyway. Most local carpenters fit doors on a daily basis. Looking more like ?200 plus materials not these silly quotes.
  2. I need some glass fitting in 8 panel external doors I have the right size it's just a case of pining it in Also need a new toilet fitting to replace old one Quotes please

  9. Hiya iv just seen this and you may not have seen my previous posts on here I am a mum of one and I'm currently working as a back up nanny the way this works is a few families have my number and if the nanny goes sick or the children are un able to go to nursery then they can call me short notice and that's it child care covered , I worked as a nanny before having my little boy and have experience with 3 children at one time all under 4 , my little boy is 10 months old and very friendly . If you would like to meet up we can arrange that and then you can just keep my nu,bet and call if ever needed its as simple as that :) Thanks Hollie

  19. Just saying tired Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > V good point Katgod - but cleaners only do a few > hours a week and they have to make their salaries > up by visiting multiple houses over the week, > traveling between them etc. Usually, the more work > there is in a job, the less the hourly rate is. > > Now I know I am at risk of causing a riot on here > with my next statement but.... arguably cleaning > is a harder job because it is extremely labour > intensive, involves cleaning yucky bathrooms etc > and is no fun at all.
  20. Wow who ever would suggest being a cleaner is a easier job than child care , are you serious ! What kind of responsibility does a cleaner have ? Since when did a mop have a temper tantrum ? That really is a shocking statement ! Do you have children? It's 10 times harder with someone else's And sorry I ment ?10 ph for more than one child which I think it says is the going rate on simply child care that's why I said that it's not what I charge nor ever have expected
  21. I think a few of these posts are a bit harsh I'm speaking as a nanny and as a mother and as a nanny I'd say ?10 is an average wedge it's not a easy job you are stepping in for someone's parents it's a huge responsibility I do agree that the family should pay for ofsted as it is purely to benefit the employer not the nanny , holiday and sick should be in the contract as this is a job the same as any other of course you should pay holiday and sick . If your worried about the nanny not paying her tax then you pay it that's what your ment to do you are a employer not many nannies are self employed , or get proof of there tax payments . For a mothers point of view I would look for the best I could for my son I wouldn't look for the cheapest and to be honnest I would be looking for a nanny that rates her self higher than ?6 or ?7 ph after all she will be looking after the most important being in my life you can't put a price on that ! Lucky enough I get to take my baby to work with me , I think my charge is very reasonable and its a shame us nannies have to read nasty comments to suggest we r in this job to rip people off , I happen to love what I do and all the families who I have worked for and I'd like to think I'm worth every penny
  22. Your right accidents do happen when I had my baby in hospital because he was poorly a lady brought a 2 yr old in who had eaten a toilet block ! These little ones have no idea how much worry they are
  23. Where are the parents while the children are going through the detergent cupboard that should have a lock on it ? Under 2's should not be left unattended let alone in the kitchen nor should they no what a jelly sweet is to be confused Just my opinion
  24. Thank you everyone I did phone nhs direct and got some advice I was able to give him calprofen and he was fine last night , his room is always kept at 18/19 but I'm funny about leaving window open as we r ground floor house conversion and his room is at the front of the house ! Thanks for all your comments hopefully tonight I won't feel the need to check on him every hour Hollie
  25. Me again , As a nanny I no I shouldn't have to ask so many questions but all of a sudden not being able to clock off at 6 o'clock is becoming harder and harder So baby had his 3 rd set of jabs yesterday lunch time and during the night he woke me at 3am he was roasting with a tempture of 38.2 he had already had calpol so he couldn't have anymore I stayed awake until 6am keeping a eye on his tempture and after stripping him off to his nappy it went down to 37.5 . Today he woke up with big Rosie cheeks and has been a bit miserable all day , his gone to bed tonight with calpol and tempture is okay at the mo but has been up and down all day , Could this be because of his jabs ? I have read up that a huge number of cotdeaths are caused by over heating and now I'm freaking out What if his tempture rises to much in the night and Im asleep ? How high is too high ? He is only 4 months old (20 weeks) He has two teeth already but with didn't have problems with these two coming through maybe he has more coming that's y he is poorly , his also on new milk could it be that Should I stay awake all night to keep a check on him ? What would you do ?
