I have used Sainsburys for several years now. Since I swapped to no bags I keep strong bags for life by the door to transfer things across on the doorstep. Some drivers stand and stare while I transfer, others very kindly give me a hand as they can see it reduces the time! Occasionally drivers have offered to bring the crates through, but I prefer to transfer at the door. I believe some companies do the carry through to the kitchen as standard.

You could report it to your local SNT or 101. There is even a facility to report onlie to the Met Police. They might know the faces and in any event it all goes to building up local intelligence. -

Good morning Malumbu, thank you very much for your very helpful advice. I'll get in touch with the landlord.

I have a boiler and and hot water tank (under same system). Regularly I find that I run out of hot water to my kitchen and bathroom. The flow just reduces and stops (usually in the evening, but sometimes during the day). The cold water flow is fine. The hot water tank is fed by a tank above it in the airing cupboard with a ballcock controlling the filling of the tank. The hot water tank does fill up again, but the running out of water is a recurrent problem. I have never experienced this in previous properties. I have had several plumbers visiting over the last year or so. One said that the pipes and/or hot water tank might be silting up. Another suggested that it was down to local work by Thames Water and there was nothing to be done. I live towards the South Circular/Horniman end of Underhill. I was wondering whether anyone else with a similar set-up is experiencing similar problems, suggesting the Thames water hypothesis or whether it is more likely to be silting up. Unfortunately I have to rely on a landlord to arrange any work, but would be very grateful for any advice.

I know it is not strictly what you asked, but London barrister Colin Yeo has an excellent website with lots of information and advice about EU citizens & Brexit, including applying for settled status: www.freemovement.org.uk/hubs/eu-free-movement/

Ah, that would fit in with behind the church. I feel for the horses at the stables as well. They looked more professional than domestic fireworks. -
Fireworks at 10.30 pm - Dulwich Village area?
IlonaM replied to Metallic's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I am towards the bottom of Underhill SE22 and I could see them from my sitting room window. It looked as if they were near/behind the church with the steeple on Lordship Lane near the bottom of Underhill (opposite the Concrete House)- can't remember its name. Sounded like the Blitz. Quite large fireworks. -
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/sep/25/get-ready-for-brexit-satire-led-by-donkeys-launches-billboard-contest 'A competition to redesign the government?s ?get ready for Brexit? poster has been launched by the pro-remain activists behind a nationwide billboard campaign designed to embarrass Brexiter politicians. The best five designs will be put up on billboards in towns and cities around Britain in what the campaigners, known as Led By Donkeys, describe as a push to give the public more accurate information. The competition will be judged by the writer-director Armando Iannucci and the actor and comedian David Schneider. ... Led By Donkeys has taken a characteristically satirical axe to the ?100m advertising campaign, launching a mock-up of a government website and an online tool that lets users design their own ?get ready? poster. The competition can be entered by going to ledbydonkeys.com. ... The deadline for submissions to the competition is midnight on Wednesday 2 October.'

https://www.peoples-vote.uk/let_us_be_heard Park Lane to Parliament Square, London. 12pm, Saturday 19th October 2019 - London 'We will assemble on Park Lane, in London, on Saturday 19th October at 12 noon. We will then march through the heart of London to Parliament Square, where we will hear speeches from leading cross party politicians and celebrity voices who support a People?s Vote.' 'Why are we marching? The march from Park Lane to Parliament will deliver a message loud and clear to the Government and MPs that they should trust the people, not Boris Johnson, to solve the Brexit crisis. It follows a series of packed ?Let Us Be Heard? rallies in towns and cities across the UK this summer where people from all walks of life have demanded the right to a final say on Brexit. This Brexit crisis has now come down to a simple question about whether we live in a democracy: can we allow Boris Johnson to force No Deal - or another vicious form of Brexit - on our country, without all of us having our voice heard? The only way to break the deadlock in Parliament, legitimise the outcome and allow us all to talk about something else, is to give the people the final say. Let Us Be Heard.' 'Saturday 19th October 2019 - London PEOPLE'S VOTE MARCH - LET US BE HEARD To avoid major disruption to Great Ormond Street Hospital's huge annual fundraiser we had to move our March to October 19. This summer, the British people have the chance to force our way back into the final decision on Brexit. We are going on the offensive, with rallies in 15 towns and cities across the country, culminating with an enormous, historic march in London on October 19. Because it is now clear that this is a crisis that cannot be settled by a new prime minister or a deadlocked parliament. It can only be settled by us, the people. Save the date. And let?s save the country.'
