The lack of communication and planning for something happening in a couple of weeks is appalling. They don't seem to have thought this through very well - - We are not all in one family residences, some of us in flats or houses in multiple occupation share our brown bins. - Brown bins in HMOS are often used for garden work done in the common ways rather than just private gardens - Where there are privately or social housing rented properties does the landlord pay for the brown bins? - Where a mix of rented and owner-occupied properties in a building, does each resident apply and pay for own bin (seems bound to clog the streets), share or just use the ones with stickers on? Seems bound for potential neighbour disputes. Did they even bother to canvas opinions? I had not heard anything before this thread.

Yes, do report to police. When I lived in Dollis Hill we used to have to run the gauntlet of various touts, dealers etc which was very daunting to cross and scary walking home. The local police stepped up their presence in the evenings which made such a difference.

Always have some cash on me, but use debit card as well. Would hate to live in a cashless society. Only place I tap is on BA for food as they no longer take cash on board (except for charity donation), otherwise I prefer to put in my pin.

Lavender, there's lots of good information and advice out there if you are concerned (Alzheimers Society etc.). The BBC Horizon series did a very good documentary on Alzheimers which is available on YouTube and the Mayo Clinic has interesting information on research (https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/alzheimers-disease/in-depth/alzheimers-treatments/art-20047780). It is more likely that you were feeing tired after a busy day. We all forget why we have gone into the kitchen/upstairs etc. I'm always doing it.

Last week we had no joy, but today we found a complete Guardian at the Co-op LL. Sainsburys at Dulwich Library did not have any. Last week we were told that the driver had no inserts loaded on the van.

My mother recently lost her camera in Brighton and some kind soul had handed it into the local police station. She was very happy to be reunited with it, but when she returned to try to hand in a key she had found they said that they no longer had the time, space or resources.
