and are the 1% even included in this survey ? "There are caveats around these figures - they are based on surveys, so there is a margin of error, and it is particularly difficult to get survey responses from people at the top of the income distribution." The 1% are to busy sailing the world to fill in a survey :) Also surely by just looking at the UK - there is a gap between home owners and non home owners (as shared ownership I'm somewhere in the middle) - if house prices are rising how can non home owners share in any wealth. OH They're looking at INCOME not WEALTH - as you were

Just hand it off to TFL Government won't though as it's a Labour mayoralty.

So would you be able to set-up a business (like IT contractors) to run your BTLs then ?

Louise Mensch claiming on Twitter she knows enough about Trump to force impeachment etc - don't know if she's believable. Don't think Pence would be much better anyway.

Thameslink trains were on time during the Southern strike - back to 10 minutes late now :)

The leavers went on for years (Bastards under Major) to get us out - the fight to go back in may go in for years. Of course if we are very successful alone in the world I am open to be persuaded - but I don't believe we will.

There's a huge great thread on Train cancellations and delays here somewhere :) Thameslink OK but usually late, Southern awful, Overground not too bad.

Looks like the banks don't want to offer BTL http://www.theweek.co.uk/66688/buy-to-let-mortgages-pulled-at-fastest-rate-since-2009 and there seems more bad news around the corner. If the pound falls sharply when TM invokes article 50 - at some point interest rates need to go up to support the pound ... doesn't it - although that could be old school economics

Yes capacitors, resistors too - I could blow up those things all the time :) I'd get certified guy for wiring
