  1. Does anyone know how i go about getting southwark to pick up an old freezer from outside the house? Do they even do this, or do i need to take it to the tip myself? Thanks a lot,
  2. Personally I burn both logs and coal in my stove - I appreciate that we are supposed to be in a smokeless zone but it saves me using anything like as much central heating (which obviously runs on fossil fuels) because of it's much greater heat efficiency and it's not as though London buses & lorries have converted to LPG which would make a much bigger difference to air quality.
  3. I also notice they have rather optimisticlly kept the upstairs as a restaurant - assumed they would have turned it into flats. Can't help lamenting the dodgy food and surly service though - was caught in it's attractor beam on numerous occasions.
  4. Does anyone know if the new incarnation of the Tex Mex (Dos Amigos)is part of a chain - I dont want to start another riot re. chains etc, but i have noticed a few of these places springing up with exactly the same fascia. One has just opened in north kent near my office, which seems an odd expansion plan. I guess they will have also binned the stuffed crocidile too - wished they'd had an auction, those sombreros were awesome.
  5. I have just spoken to Sonia @ the planning office and the application has been withdrawn - unfortunately not because they have given up but because they are reconfiguring the ground floor access. Her opinion is that the developer is trying to achieve too much out of the site and will not be able to do this without significantly affecting the gym downstairs. I also live on bassano street with a top floor flat with roof terrace which would be overlooked by the new flats which i have obvioulsy objected to - unfortuntely these would probably have to be re-sent when the new applicaiton is lodged. It's nice to know i am not the only one looking at the plans with a degree of trepidation on that street.
  6. I'm certianly interested in a rematch- we were, after all, robbed last year! nothing better than reminding oursleves how unkind the years have been...
  7. i had the guy from the Lib Dems round on sunday for the parking survey and suggested to him that they should consider a licensing and excise duty scheme for the prams with a sliding cost scale based upon an inversely proportional formula related to the number of wheels said vehicles possesses. the lib dems are clearly so desperate for voters he seemed genuinely keen....
  8. I work out in North Kent which is rightly recognised as 'chav-central' and was musing about what the collective noun for a group of underage mothers aggresively pushing their prams down the high street would be? The favourite choice came in as 'A Chaviot'. I was wondering what the correct word would be for the entriely different breed of mothers who terrorise ED's pavements?
