I usually run 4 refresher classes a year and the next one will be on November 13th and 20th from 8pm to 10pm, ideal for those of you expecting December, January, even early February 2015.   5. Dear 2nd time parents, Are you pregnant with your 2nd baby? Are you looking for an antenatal course to brush up labour and prepare you for live with a toddler and a baby? I am a practising midwife and I regularly run antenatal courses for first and second time parents. On November I will be running another course for 2nd time parents for those of you expecting on December/January. The course will run over 2 weeks on November 13th and 20th from 8pm until 10pm. The First week will be about labour, what to expect 2nd time round, coping strategies and recovery time after giving birth. The Second week will be about feeding your newborn and preparing you for life with 2, as well as preparing your toddler for when the little brother or sister arrives. The course content is very flexible and I always try to accommodate any other topics that you may want to know about. The cost for 2 weeks is 100? and there are maximum 4 couples per group.   9. Dear all, I hope you are all well and enjoying your little ones. I just wanted to drop a line about a workshop weaning/introducing solids I will be running on November 7th in East Dulwich (Clockhouse Pub). The course is run by a nutritionist with many years of experience, so it will be a great chance to ask her as many questions as you feel during the workshop. The workshop will cover: *when to start *what to feed your baby and what to avoid *progression of feeding and dropping milk feeds *purees (making, combining, textures, etc) *baby led weaning *allergies and intolerances *choosing commercial baby foods *suggested books ..........with tips and tricks throughout on how to make weaning healthy and fun! Really worth doing it to feel ready for the transition. Also, I am organising a 'First Aid course for babies and children', it will run over 2 Saturdays, these will be 16th and 23rd of Novmeber from 10am until 12noon in East Dulwich. I am a midwife, and I was reading some of your entries I wanted to let you know that I run first time parents and refresher courses for second time parents in East Dulwich. Courses are fun, dynamic, midwife and research based and overall non-judgmental. An ideal place to get the right information and meet other local mothers expecting around the same dates as you. I run first time parents course on a monthly basis, either weekend courses or 6 consecutive weeks on Thursdays. The course lasts 6 weeks, it is dynamic and interactive, but also informative, research and experienced based and certainly non-judgemental. It is a great chance to meet other local mothers and prepare you for labour, birth and early days with your baby from first hand experience as a midwife. The course is a great alternative to NCT. During the course I invite 2 couples to tell their birth story, and you get the chance to practice different breathing and relaxation techniques throughout the weeks. Also, I organise 2 social gatherings while the course lasts and one final social when the course is over to make sure that the group carries on. The course last 3 weeks and the dates are March 5th,12th and 19th from 8 till 10pm so you can put your little ones in bed before the session starts. Needless to say partners welcome, though sometimes they are the ones baby sitting. The total cost of the course is 105?, and paying in installment is possible if this is more convenient.   16. Hi Katie, thank you for your message. I do organise second time mothers refresher groups when I get enquires. I am totally happy to organise a refresher course for March for those of you due April/May. I usually run them over 3 weeks, 2 hour per week with a social gathering during the course and a final one when the course is over. I tend to run them either Tuesday or Wednesday evening from 8 til 10pm, but timing is very flexible to accommodate the group's needs.
