  1. Used her over Christmas, don't know another number for her sorry! Keep trying :)
  2. My own cat is quite small, and the cat on Barry Road seemed more normal-large sized (mine is 4 years old and this cat was bigger than her) - i hope that helps? Definitely looked too big to be 10 months old, i couldn't see any markings on the cat either - seemed to be completely black. Hope you find her soon x
  3. Oh thank you, I was walking back there probably half an hour before you on my way back from the vet (with my own cat in tow) I called the vets to see if someone could pop and get the poor thing as I had nothing to put it in and my cat was meowing to get home. Then I got furious at a load of speeding cars and a lorry. I hope the owners can be found - sad thought it is, better to know.

Pickle gets cold at night (she's sleeping on my head at night, and she did the same last winter haha) so i was a bit worried about some of the catteries coming up on google where they are pens in the garden!
  5. thanks, will get in touch with her Any other places people can recommend so i have options would be fab!
  6. Can anyone recommend a local cattery? I phone my vet and they didn't really seem to know any, but knew there was one in Dulwich, possibly Dulwich Cattery but no reviews anywhere or a website etc I normally get Lisa from Bow Wow Miaow (she's wonderful and i recommend her 10000%!) to come round but I am now living in a houseshare, with other people who aren't too vigilant at keeping doors closed when I'm not around (they are indoor cats, one has a brain problem so would not last long outdoors) so I'd just be too stressed out worrying if they had escaped, I hate the thought of sending them away but it seems to be the safest/most worry free option.
  7. we got our (rented flat) through them - ridiculous fees and appalling service. Told me I was 'insisting on being difficult' when asking for an updated document before paying extra deposit money (they did it wrong on the day, this extra money was only ever discussed and agreed to on the phone). We did all the chasing. We had no idea whether we had passed referencing etc as no-one would tell us, despite us ringing them all the time. Trouble is, the agent who we viewed with was fine, then moved to another office. The service nosedived after we paid the ?500 holding money - no escape without losing money then.
  8. *sigh* I wish i had found this thread sooner - dealing with them at the moment and I am so stressed out :(
  9. Castle Aquatics in Eltham (obviously a little further away) is also really good, but another recommendation for Crystal Palace too! But I'd say depending on what you're after - Castle probably has a bit more as they only deal in Aquatics where as Crystal Palace has both Aquatics and reptiles. (I used to keep a large coldwater aquarium, and reptiles which i still have)

Dr Tran is brilliant, love her sense of humour and chattiness - laughter is the best medicine! Seen her a few times and her personality always takes the edge off how rough i might be feeling :)
  11. + 1 for Lisa, she is fab, my cat adores her - she sent us regular updates and a few pics while we were away, which was lovely!
  12. yes do try privately on here :) and be up-front (which you are being). We have 3 pet snakes which are harmless and small - kept in locked vivariums and are genuinely clean and would not cause any damage to a flat. We also wanted to get a cat so we posted about ourselves and what we were looking for and were offered our perfect flat! The cat moved in a few months after us and we're all happy and so is our landlord. it probably is a little easier with something like a snake/fish/lizard etc as they live in something rather than loose in the flat like a cat or dog, but believe me we were turned down for them. But they are our pets and part of the family - they are worth the hassle and we got there in the end. More and more people have to rent as it is near impossible to get on the property ladder now - a bit of give and take from landlords would be nice so long as those with pets keep their part of the bargain and make sure mess etc is dealt with so as not to ruin the place etc.
  13. lol i keep getting the post for next door but one... not far to drop off but still. My bigger gripe is with people that move house and don't give out their new address! I get more post for someone that lived her two years ago than i get for myself. Junk mail fair enough just gets binned but there's hand-written things like cards and even phone bill looking things! and why do Boden send their customer a catalogue nearly every week (again this is the previous people) what a waste of paper!! I'm sick of binning the damn things and doing a return to sender session nearly every week with wodges of letters is doing my nut in. Soon it will all get binned!
  14. we use the Neighbourhood Vets too, no complaints :) for occaisonal cat sitting we use Lisa (bowwowmiaow)... or Auntie Lisa as we now refer to her when talking to the cat... (there's a big pawprint on our foreheads - we're such cat slaves lol)

If the driver is at fault, the lady's safety precautions are irrelevant. The lady is unhurt (but bloody shaken up imagine) so what would a helmet have changed about this accident?
  16. It's a disgrace in this day and age that people don't neuter their cats to prevent unwanted kittens, and unforgivable that they should just dump them on the streets. Thank goodness for charities like Celia Hammond. I also read a box of puppies were dumped somewhere in Peckham. It's horrible.
  17. ah yes the old text and walk out.... had a number of near misses (though none as close as yours) in similar situations. Unfortunely no kind of brightly coloured signs and pavement/road markings can cure a complete lack of common sense in people tuned into nothing but their mobiles... they'd walk across a motorway if there wasn't bariers up! :( DuncanW Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > For the record, I was involved in a collision on > this stretch of 'cycle path' about a month ago. > A guy who was texting walked out in front of me. 18. haha, I registered with them last night - i have an appointment with Dr Tran next week - i have a weird sense of humour too so no doubt we'll get along like a house on fire... or not at all! peckhamwry Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The Gardens is great as a surgery and most of the > docs there are good too. Agree about people going too fast along Surrey Canal - i like to take my time along there. If i'm in a rush i'll use the roads... but i can rarely be bothered to rush! It's nice to enjoy a bit of green space/no traffic to worry about and all cyclists should respect the other park users and not race down there. It's really annoying when i carefully look behind me before i overtake a pedestrian for some loony to overtake me at breakneck speed... what's the rush, it's not the Tour de France!
  20. I only use it on my way to work in the mornings, it really needs to be signed better. I can't work out whether it's one way (ie from the libary crossing to Primark only) or both as coming from the opposite way (which is what i'm doing in the morning) there are signs on lamposts facing me - in my eyes is that to tell me there is a cycle path there or is it just to warn pedestrians? It shouldn't be confusing - confusing leads to accidents. I just stay on the bus lane - it's easier although people still like to look me in the eye and walk out in front of me on the road too - and why do so many try to push buggies into the road (ie when the parent is still on the pavement waiting to cross) - i've nearly been hit twice, i've grown accustomed to giving them a wide berth instead now - bit of commmon sense to not stick a buggy out into a busy road surely - not bothered about me, i tend to be pretty bullet proof but babies and toddlers are not (my own mum learned this lesson the hard way when i was a baby myself - although i do have her epically thick knitted bobble hat to thank for coming out of that accident alive - the driver drove off without a trace!) I do like the Surrey Canal route though, nice to cycle at a leisurely pace through the greenery :)
  21. pripolla Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Forest Hill Road GP have an asthma clinic. 22. Does anyone know of any local practices that have an asthma clinic? NHS website said the Gardens do but i think i'm only just out of there boundary :( plus it says nothing on their website about an asthma clinic. I had really good support at my old surgery as they had a specialist asthma nurse/clinic so could do with this again at a new practice - especially with winter coming!
