  1. If your name is Gillian Watson, I know where you live...
  2. Just did a search of the electoral roll. There are 206 registered Gillian Watsons in the country. 9 live in London. None lives in SE22. The nearest one is Streatham. Of course none of these are necessarily THE Gillian Watson.
  3. Just to clarify, when I said ED was better than Brixton or Peckham it was solely in the context of street crime. There are many reasons why those two neighbourhoods are great places to live, but this thread is about street muggings. I don't have the statistics to hand, but it is my perception that there is less street crime in ED than Brixton or Peckham. Many thanks to Lizziedjango for apologising and making it clear that she wasn't accusing me of racism. That is very much appreciated. But my main point in my post was to suggest that we should use this forum as a practical tool to help fight crime.
  4. I know what you mean JSWilly, and I too am glad no-one has been hurt in these incidents. But we shouldn't just shrug and say "Well at least it's not as bad as Brixton or Peckham". It's precisely because ED is better than those two places that we should defend it to the upmost. And we've got a powerful new tool at our disposal; this very forum. So let's not use it to squabble. Let's use it for our own benefit. For example, through reading this page I now know there was an incident (however small) in Whately Rd at about 22.15. From where I'm sitting I've got a clear view down a length of the adjoining Felbrigg Rd. I would twitch my net curtains if I had any! If I see a group of people acting suspiciously who may be the perps (a description, however vague, would be useful) I'll report it to the community police. If they are too busy with bigger stuff to respond, fair enough. The point is we've all got eyes, we're spread all over ED and we can be informed quickly and can respond quickly, for the benefit of all. Who's with me?
  5. I believe four girls were spotted in the area. Sorry, I don't have a better description than that...
  6. Many thanks to Property in Dulwich who have replaced their sign with one that is spelt correctly. They are now officially "Dulwich's Leading Independent Agent"! Good on them. The East Dulwich Forum has the power to change East Dulwich! A bit. Vince
  7. The "Property in Dulwich" Estate Agent in LL has a massive new sign in its window. It is, apparently, "Dulwich's Leading Independant Agent". I wouldn't mind so much if it was hand written, but it's an enormous vinyl sign, maybe 4 feet across. The artwork would've been typed up on a computer. It would've been approved by a manager. The people in the factory would've received the job and examined it before printing. Do none of these people have spellcheck?
  8. HSBC rang on Thurs 7th to say my card had been cloned. On Fri 8th they rang again to say Mrs Vince's card on the same joint account had also been cloned. Yes, the shop we have most in common is a well known supermarket on LL. But here's the interesting thing; tonight (Fri) a guy in an LL restaurant told me that another restaurant in LL had (in last year) someone in the street outside using a gadget to wirelessly tap into the hand held card readers and cream off the card and pin numbers as the transactions took place. Maybe this is how someone is collecting data from, lets say, a well known LL supermarket. Any thoughts?
