  1. DITTO. I go to Mel Grove medical centre whom now won't give you an appointment until the doctor has called you back to assess if you really need to come in!! Which is good I guess in a way but you can't just get an appointment, unless you are on deaths door. Nice heh? Oh and another issue - they never call you back when they say they will!
  2. God Lisa - unlucky that they got the side of your car. Maybe I should stop moaning. And I know parking permits can be worse Izodia but the problem is people think that Melbourne Grove is a 'Park and Ride' road. I see people every day driving and parking their cars on our road and then getting on the train! I have a company car and only use it as my job invloves driving around all day, therefore if I go out in the morning and come back at lunchtime I cannot park anywhere. My sister lives In camberwell as she has the same problem, all the local council offices are near and they park down her road during working hours! So if you go out during the day you are screwed! I just wish we had been forewanred about the diversion, but I have to say last night I got a space!!!!! Whoop! Now I'll wait for the scratches from the number 37........
  3. I know the works are necessary I don't deny that, but it would be nice if the Council gave some sort of warning that your road was about to become a practical motorway, and that you are having your parking removed, but no, they just whack the signs up and expect everyone to co operate. I just WISH (and I can't believe I'm saying this) that they would bring parking permits into Southwark. I would actually prefer to pay to park and always have somewhere rather than have to search for 5 hours to find a place even when the road is not partially parking suspended. And this is such a NIMBY, if you had it in your doorstep you wouldn't be saying its not the end of the world. Thanks to those who feel my pain!!
  4. Never use the TFL website for planning Journeys - it has a mind of its own. Last week it told me to get the bus to London Bridge from Old Street then the train to victoria then the circle line to get to Paddington....
  5. Does anyone know how long the works that have closed the junction of Lordship lane and Dulwich Grove are going to go on? Basically they have diverted all the traffic down Melborne Grove (including the 37 bus) which is already a massively busy road for a non classified road as everyone uses it as a short cut and car park for when they go shopping in ED. I can hardly even cross my road at the moment to go to the shop its RIDICLOUS. To make it even worse, the clever Council has decided to put parking suspensions down one side of the whole of the road, so when we could barely park, now we can't at all. I have had to park 3 roads down and don't like doing that as then I'll be taking up some other residents space. The parking suspension is for a MONTH!
  6. OH I didn't get a polling card either. And I know the reason. Our clever Southwark Council decided to 'hand deliver' all its polling cards. IE they gave them to some kid who delivered half then got bored and shoved the rest in the nearest wheely bin. After ringing the council 3 times, she admitted that you didn't even need proof of address or who you are to vote. So really yesterday you could have just popped along with your next door neighbours name and voted for them. very secure
  7. And me.....he was serious trust issues
  8. Snorks Yes I did - is that not allowed? Evidently you have been 'stalking my posts' so i did the same to you - and you have replied about a whole load of things - sorry am I not allowed to? All I wondered was is Nero Staying open. Now I'm wanting BC to stay open. Not allowed to ask a question? YOU ARE SOOOOOOOO SUSPICIOUS. Leave it be and just trust people or alternatively stop writing crap snorky Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > katy - you seem to have an interest in council > planning appeals - a hobby of yours ? 9. Thanks for everyone who belives me! Its kind of quite funny now all those who don't, ie team snorky. Angela from BC emailed me to say thanks, even though she had no idea who I was, or even spoken to me. I love it - innoncently started a riot! in which no one believes me cause - won't bother next time!
  10. Some people are sooo suspicious - I am just one plain girl who lives in East Dulwich and wanted to help a bar stay open...where is the harm in that? Thanks piers for believing me - even if the other idiots don't
  11. and to clarify yes they are saying no garden area then no black cherry.
  12. Whichever - surely it should be supported though??? Doesn't everyone want nice places to eat on Lordship Lane. Snorky - sorry but what a stupid comment - and if you are stupid enough to think a nice sushi place would get it you are wrong wrong wrong - another betting shop morelike. We should support lcoal businesses not rubbish them if their business plans don't work out first time around
  13. Oh also there is a petition on line www.gopetition.com/petitions/black-cherry-bar.html
  14. Sorry - to clarify - what they are saying is - if they don't get the permission on the appeal to be able to extend the premsies onto the garden space as a solid stucture then they will have to close down as they can't afford to keep the place going without this area. They have leaflets inside on all the tables explaining the situation and I quote "we need to extend our building in order to survive" I spoke to the girls about it in length - they say that one neighbour complained about the noise- hence the reason it was refused. If they don't get it - they say they will close.
  15. Does everyone know that the Black Cherry might have to close down because the Council are refusing them permission to extend the back of the premises into the garden space so that people can sit out there? Apparently one neighbour complained - even though they shut it at 10.00pm.This means that if they don't get permssion on appeal that it will have to close down!! :( Its a family run business and no one wants chain coming in (like costa or something) in plus the Black Cherry is such a nice bar. I was in there the other day and there are things we can do to help - like emailing the councillors at Southwark - they haev the power to overturn the decision. Here is a few email addresses:-- [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Get emailing everyone and save the place!! the thought of another chain coming in would make me sick...
  16. Black Cherry is supposedly a lesbian bar - if you look in bar guides thats the section it comes under!
  17. So..does anyone know what the outcome of the appeal was for Cafe Nero??
