Can anyone recommend a HSE licensed firm to carry out asbestos removal? Thanks.

Just to reiterate what a great addition this is to the area. Went again last Friday on the way to a weekend visiting some friends and enjoyed the beers and snacks Friday and Saturday night. The people in there are very friendly and also helpful in picking out new things to try.

I think you're right regarding the above manager in that they only cover part of the contract - it would need someone that looks across all of the work. If a Councillor or similar could collate the feedback in a simple spreadsheet covering - First line of address, surname of tenant, description of works carried out, issues identified, etc. Could make sense to break the columns down so you can interrogate the data e.g. rather than just 'issues' have a column each for 'works not completed', 'works completed to poor standard', 'windows painted shut', 'scaffolding left in place', 'damage caused by contractor', 'rude contractors', etc. That way Southwark would be able to throw some stats at Saltash e.g. 80% of homes have windows painted shut... two weeks' time... there are still 60% that have not been fixed, etc.

I have had similar issues to the above e.g. poor quality work, painting doors/windows shut, no communication, etc. I am concerned that despite Saltash having only used the scaffolding for approx. two weeks, they will try to bill me for the months that it has been in place but unused. Is there a way of collating all of these issues and sending a co-ordinated response to one of Southwark's senior management team? I would be happy to contribute but unfortunately don't have the time to take the lead.

Have tried pretty much everywhere that has been rated highly on here. Crooked Well by a long way. Only place where the potatoes are anything close to home made quality and the roast chicken sharer is knock out. If it's fully booked, they do pretty much the same menu and quality cooking at the Perry Vale in Forest Hill; it's their sister pub.

Used to think this was great. Getting frustrated by poor service and, I suppose, effectively lying by the staff. Few weeks ago went in and asked for 2 kebabs. Changed my mind a minute later and asked if they could make it three. "Yes no problem". Something told me she hadn't bothered so I double checked. Yes she said. Got home - 2 kebabs. Today. Different girl. Can I have skin on, bone out chicken thighs please. Yes. So that's skin on but bone out. Yes. Get home - no skin. Not sure what the problem is but maybe too lazy to do something that's not available to go. I don't know if others have experienced the same but if something is really important to your recipe I would check the bag before you leave the shop.

We have been using this place for fish and chips since it opened. When it first opened, the quality was very high but over the past 6-12 months (we probably have fish and chips every couple of months) the quality has been steadily going downhill. Last night our fish was thin, lacked a flaky texture, the batter was greasy and had a chemical-like taste; the chips were soggy and poor quality. Added to this I could see the staff rubbing their faces, touching their hair, etc and then preparing/ serving food. So, due to a combination of poor quality and hygiene we won't be going again.

I need to print 5 pages of A4 this morning and don't have a printer at home. Is there somewhere I can print in Dulwich? Internet cafes used to be the option but not sure of any locally now.

Tried Olivelli last night. Overall positive but there are some issues that need ironing out. We talked about this with the manager but it's worth being aware it's not perfect. I have been the their restaurant on The Cut which didn't have any of these issues and was only positive, so I am sure it's going to be a great addition to Lordship Lane after the first couple of weeks. The main issues were with service. When we arrived we weren't really greeted and it took a while to confirm where we were meant to sit. I'm not sure it helps having no reception area/facility at the front of the restaurant so there is a slightly disjointed relay between staff near the door and the manager near the till/booking system. The staff were okay but not exactly beaming with smiles / excitement of it being a new restaurant. That said, our waitress did warm up later on. When we sat we weren't offered any water and then had to wait a few minutes for the menus. We ordered 10 minutes after arriving and the starter (antipasti) turned up 35 minutes later. They brought out the wrong mains. We weren't proactively offered things like olive oil with antipasti/bread, chilli oil with pizza, etc despite it being available when we asked To give them credit, the manager came to ask us (and seemed to be asking all tables) how things were going, thanked us for coming and apologised for the teething issues. Food-wise it was very good. Yes it's not groundbreaking stuff but if you want solid Italian classics, it's does well on those. You can tell the difference between the Italian mega-chains and somewhere like Olivelli where the food seems to be cooked fresh and from scratch rather than pre-prepared and then frozen. Overall I am sure they will sort these issues out and we will be back in a few weeks.

Just had Sunday lunch here. We were impressed given how long it's been open. Food was of a high standard, with vegetables, which usually end up overcooked on a Sunday, particularly good. Service also pretty slick. All the staff were friendly and seemed genuinely interested in whether we were enjoying lunch. Certainly a lot better than The Patch when it first opened and gives The Great Exhibition, our local favourite on a Sunday, a run for its money and beats it on service and roast potatoes. What could they improve? Decor needs fishing off as a bit spartan, some music and remembering the stuffing which was on the menu but missing from my plate. Will definitely go back and wish them all the best.

I'm a member of JAGS and I think it's a good family gym for the money if you are happy with good cardio machines (recently upgraded), and basic machine weights and free weights. If you are big into free weights it's no good for that but I don't think anywhere in Dulwich is. The pool is nice and clean and, whenever I've been, not too busy with room for all standards. I haven't been to any classes. JAGS is also open in the mornings for a couple of hours. One of the things I like about JAGS is it opens early and closes late.

We've used Antony from Green & Tidy gardening services a few times and been very happy. He always goes the extra mile and tidies a few things up that we hadn't asked for - last time we asked him to trim some bushes and he cleared the weeds growing in our patio for free. Another recommendation for John. Really decent guy and Gas Safe certified. Finished off a boiler service/repair on Friday - was quick and reasonably priced.

I'd say Franlinks or The Crooked Well in Dulwich. Both have a good selection of food and are reasonably priced. Crooked Well has a nice bar space for a pre-dinner cocktail too. Franklins has a space but it's a bit crowded in the bar area whenever I go in there so we usually just head straight to the table. As mentioned above, the http://www.thecamberwellarms.co.uk looks interesting and has good reviews (same people as The Anchor and Hope, Waterloo). The 'no bookings' policy might not work for a special dinner. Toasted - OK but agree with others' views on portion size and I've never had a Wow! dish in there Palmerston - Good food but always felt let down by the service Angels and Gypsies - Pretty good but I'd rather take a 15 min trip to London Bridge and eat at Brindisa, which is one of my favourites in London

It doesn't get many mentions on here (not in ED) but Scoobies in Dulwich Village is very good. It isn't the cheapest but I think it's worth it - particularly if what you're asking them to clean is expensive or has sentimental value.

Stumbled across this thread today having put up with a very flaky power connector on my Sony laptop for months and months. Emailed Paul and he offered to come round today (Sunday) and agreed to fix on site. That's pretty good service. Paul turned up, quietly went about his business, fixed it, and undercut another price I'd found online. Definitely recommend.

We just had Antony from Green & Tidy gardening services (I think it's his own company). My other half found him on Yell.com - I don't know why she doesn't use the EDF - but he turned out to be a really good find. We asked him to come and prune three bushes and take out a tree that was starting to grow. On top of this he took it upon himself to cut the lawn, clear our patio of the weeds growing between the slabs and trim another few smaller bushes that had finished flowering. He cleared away all the rubbish and left everything very tidy. Our garden looks a lot better. Antony was also a really nice, genuine guy to deal with too. If you need someone for similar work, I couldn't recommend him highly enough. His number is 07810 286300.

Rory come and cleaned our windows on Friday morning. As we hadn't had them cleaned for a while, he cleaned inside and out. Rory obviously knows his stuff about cleaning difference types of windows, has done a great job, is reasonably priced, and he is particularly conscientious. We've decided to start having them done monthly and will be using Rory. I would strongly recommend him if you are looking for a window cleaner.

John came and looked at our boiler on Friday as we needed a gas safety certificate. I just wanted to give another recommendation as he was very honest, reasonably priced and a nice guy too.

You should look for firms that are NSI Gold accredited. http://www.nsi.org.uk/about-us

I don't have personal experience but have heard from many people that ADT's service is poor. Most of the large nationals are the same. I would suggest searching for a local firm and ask them to provide 3-4 clients that have had similar installations to the one you're looking for, and contact them to ask about their experiences.

Another recommendation for Fish, Chips & More.

I went to The Patch on NYE. Food very good but front of house, whilst friendly, was quite disorganized - mainly the communication between FOH and the kitchen. We fed this back to the manager who acknowledged there had been issues and apologised. I get the feeling they are teething issues rather than fundamental flaws and would certainly return for dinner. It's good to have an alternative to Franklins and The Palmerston (which seems too inconsistent) in the area.
