I haven't suffered from any delays or missing post while living in East Dulwich, but I send very little by post these days. That comes as a result of living in East London for 18 months, where you were lucky to have 5 out of 10 packages arrive at your door unmolested by crooked postal workers. I never bought the weak (and no doubt rehearsed) excuses I got at the sorting depot whenever packages went missing. Although experience has taught me that postmen and women in East Dulwich are, by and large, a lot more honest than their colleagues in Hackney and Leytonstone.

You can get a lot of bargains on Rye Lane, too. And when you buy fresh ingredients you're encouragedto cook. Iceland sells predominantly poor quality food like microwave meals and oven chips. Their mince looks more like cattle pellets than beef.

Er, because M&S have made the landlord a better offer, perhaps? I'd be glad to see the back of Iceland. It's a blot an otherwise pleasant highstreet.

when i lived in west London this kind of thing happened alot in the indian community. In large indian cities it isn't unheard of for beggars to deliberately mutilate themselves to attract sympathy,and thus more money. Sounds like these kids are doing this on behalf of a gang on account of their reported age. Adults who force kids to do this kind of thing (regardless of their disfigurement9 should feel the full force of the law and go to prison for a very long time.

is this still going on? I sold my car last year but i was targeted twice by these thieves. my neighbor told me that he saw them doin it but didnt want to get involved because he was on his own. He said there were 2 of them with trolleys that elderly people use for shopping (they must have had a small tank in there) but it was to dark to get a description. shocking to read about the lack of interest from the police. I reported it as well but didnt hear anything back from them
