  1. Southwark Council are clearly using this point as a cash cow.
  2. I'd appreciate anyone's stories as I want to print out this post and hand it in to the council.
  3. Have you been caught? Did you appeal? Do you think the markings are accurate and good enough. Postings from people who have been affected by this please as I am going to submit this to the council.
  4. I just got my car clamped and charged 650 quid by a bailiff. The council still haven't told me what it was for but the photo they sent me said Rye Lane/ Heaton. Maybe this is what it is for. Not that it makes it any better... I'm still angry and upset and 650 quid down.
  5. I have to stand up for Tessa Jowell. She has recently stepped in, unprompted to help me with a rather nasty run in with a wheel clamper, which cost me 650 quid. I am very very impressed and pleasantly surprised.
  6. Thanks so much for everyone's comments. It feels great to have some support.
  7. It was JBW enforcements
  8. Was going to work last week to find someone clamping my car. I asked him what he was doing and he said I'd not paid a parking ticket. He was a bailiff and I owed him ?650. I told him I'd never got a parking ticket. He told me to phone the council. When I did he continued to clamp my car. The council (Southwark) said they could not give me details of the parking ticket as it was out of their hands and with the bailiffs. Even though I said how could I pay ?650 for something I have no knowledge of they said they couldn't help. The bailiff said my car was going to be towed in the afternoon if I didn't pay the cash. As I had just completed on my flat that day my car was full of everything to move house after work. I was also due at work for a very important event. The man had me over a barrel and so I had to pay the cash as I needed my car. The council have since said the parking ticket was from CCTV and not an actual paper ticket but can't give me any more information. They even sent me some close up shots of my car - which could be anywhere as they are so blurred and just show my car and not the location or what it was doing wrong. This has really upset me. If I parked wrongly I'd pay the fine but I've never had any letters, tickets anything. This is the first I have heard of this. I am now severely skint (when moving house) and really angry at the council. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'm going to have to take this to court to get my cash back, which I could do without to be honest.
  9. What do people think of Jags? Is it the best gym near E Dulwich?
  10. I back you lillyanginger. It's stealth tax and all the people complaining about how you shouldn't be parking in the wrong place obviously don't drive on a daily basis round London. All you need is to make a couple of mistakes in a month and you are seriously financially suffering. If you forget to pay your congestion charge twice in a month that's ?120 fine. Park in the wrong spot because you are busy and your mind is elsewhere and it's another fine. Bus lanes/ box junctions/ turning the wrong way/ speed cameras. And no it's not necessarily because someone is a bad driver but because when you drive a lot, in different and new places you don't know where you are going and aren't used to the roads and their quirks. I think if you drive every day then fair play - you have a right to criticise but if you are not an every day frequent driver then just wait until you are! You will see what it is like. We are filmed everywhere we go now and once you have been fined there is no appeal.
  11. The flat is the middle one of three.
  12. Would you buy a flat that you knew had subsidence? It hasn't been underpinned so could move if we have a hot summer. I would like to see what people think about it.
  13. I moved to East Dulwich as I was at the end of my tether with planes in Fulham. They were so noisy at 5am every morning. I desperately hope we don't get more planes above. It can seriously damage your quality of life.
