  1. I second this, we had 2 pairs of handmade curtains done by Elly and her team and I couldn't be more delighted. The chap she uses to hang them is also superb - our floor is wonky and we had a handmade curtain poles wich weren't 100% Flat to the wall and you'd never know, the curtains look perfect.
  2. I think no 67 on peckham rd do. They used to anyway. Best breakfast around us.
  3. Artusi on belleden is really great. Buzzy with excellent food. Ideal for a date I'd say ( if I can remember what's required!)
  4. Hi Jasmina I would happily recommend Amber Moves. We used them twice in the past couple of years and they were excellent. They offer packing and/or unpacking and will do the dismantling etc. Nothing broke (in fact some of the stuff was so well packed it took AGES to unpack!), they were great guys, worked really hard and v polite (I had a newborn the second time). pm me for further details if you're interested. I wouldn't say they will be the cheapest, but we thought we got value for money.
  5. Thanks for the replies, really helpful. I have pm'd you!
  6. Hi there, I wonder whether the knowledgable ED mums can help me.... I am planning to try a home birth for my second baby in the next couple of weeks and am keen to get hold of a birthing pool. I am not sure whether to go for an inflatable 'pool in a box' which seems to be the most popular choice these days? Or whether there's anything else people would recommend. Also is it best to hire one (appreciate a new liner will need to be purchased) or buy one? Has anyone had any bad experiences of hiring? I don't really know anyone who has had a (planned!) home/water birth to speak to so any advice welcome. If there's anyone who woe be prepared to meet up for a coffee to share their experience/wisdom, I'd be very keen to hear from you. Thanks so much Lucie
  7. Hi I am coming to this pretty late, but am expecting our second in about 3 weeks and on maternity leave from around the middle of next week. We have a soon to be 2 year old girl already. I'd love to meet up with you the next time something is planned and/or hear from anyone living near to me who fancies coffee/meeting up anyway. We are on one of the roads off Lyndhurst Grove, nr(ish) Bellenden. Hope to see some of you soon! Lucie
  8. Hi - we are likely to need help pretty urgently with moving an upright piano out of one room and into another (both ground floor) temporarily and then moving it back again in a week or so. We think we will need someone with expertise in moving pianos, a wheeled moving board and some form of hardboard/floor protection we can use whilst storing it in its temporary location. Does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions? We will ideally need this tomorrow! Thanks.
  9. Just wanted to add my endorsement for Giulio! I've been training with him since summer 2012 aftere having my first baby and he got be back in shape quicker than I imagined would be possible. He gets more out of you than you'll ever think possible and is super motivating without being remotely bossy! I really enjoy the sessions and wouldn't be without them. Highly recommended.
  10. Hi, Andy installed a TV stand for us. Very reasonable on price despite it being a very fiddly and time consuming job and we are happy to recommend him
  11. There are some lovely villages around Twyford/Hurst. Can get to Paddington in 30 mins on the train from there - loads do it (and its a couple of stops , c 10 mins from Maidenhead itself). Grew up around there and it's great. You are near to Reading and Maidenhead for shopping and really easy into London on the train. Village school in Hurst is excellent and some pretty good state secondaries plus choice of private schools around. PM me if you'd like further details, but definitely agree I wouldn't go for living actually in Maidenhead....
  12. I think I've seen gluten and dairy free cake in Andersen & co on bellenden road.
  13. My daughter has the same thing - seems to be 24 hrs of vomiting then unbelievable nappies for a few days. GP said he's seen a few with similar symptoms over the past week and it should pass in 3 - 4 days ish. We've been giving water and dioralyte (she would just throw up the milk straightaway), then back on formula (she's 10 months) once she could hold it down. As everyone has said, so important to get the little sips of fluid down as often as possible. Hope your little ones are better soon.
  14. Agree - we recently moved to crofton rd, just along from Denman and we love it. The transport is excellent as others have said. I agree with the Taper about being higher up the slope - closer to bellenden and Warwick gardens etc, but also a great view! You're in walking distance of lots of convenient areas, bellenden, rye lane, lordship lane and camberwell church street as well. Good luck with your decision!
