I remember lots of power cuts in the 80s too. Had torch and candles lit. Reading by candlelight was lovely. Contemplating how long it would last and possible food wastage from the fridge - not so much.

Hello all I am writing this to rave about MothersInc beauty therapy services. I had a fabulous wax on Friday after not waxing for a number of years. I had their beauty therapist Andrea and she was very professional (they brought their own therapy table) and friendly. She made me feel at ease, so much so that I hadn't noticed that the wax was finished! As I am a new customer, the owner Ehi came along and provided me with a customer information form (which I filled out) and confirmed the type of wax I required. Their service is great. They are clean and tidy. They were finished in an hour. If you are looking for some pampering then this is the team to use. Their shop is based on Forest Hill Road. Thanks for the info KK but they were definitely bruised. The flesh under the skin was bruised and discoloured. Not great for eating - unless you like mushed up banana...

Update! I ended up buying them from the man on the corner of the peckham rye entrance. I had a look at other stalls too. They were very sweet but also very bruised :( My local, Forest Hill Supermarket, has started stocking them again and I'm very pleased with the quality. :)
