  1. Hi all, I'm doing a graphic design research project at the moment and would like to know your thoughts on the AVENT logo. As a mother myself I have the AVENT natural bottles, steriliser and dummies. From a parent consumer point of view I would be very grateful if you could answer the following/share your thoughts on the following: -do you think the logo is outdated or iconic/timeless? -does it represent a strong trustworthy/quality brand? does it convey something completely different? -do you like the logo? general thoughts in comparison to other brand logos,eg Dr Browns, Tommee Tippee etc Thank you if you are able to give your feedback xx
  2. Great. Thanks for church/parish info x
  3. Does anyone know if you have to attend mass at St Thomas More to get your child into St Anthonys? or can you go to weekly mass at any other catholic church, even outside of the the Southwark Diocese?
  4. Thanks for your comments everyone-don't feel half as bad now! Did ask at another church a bit further away and was told that the priest had died recently and they didn't give any indication when the next baptism will be.Plus my local church told me I need to be coming to mass consistently for 3-6 months before my baby can be baptised. So Strawbs I think I will take your advice and just go with it as October is the first chance I will get by the sounds of things and I don't want to leave it any later.x
  5. Hi all, I enquired about baptism at my local church. Baby Butter is now 7 months and I was made to feel like a bad catholic (and mother) as I was told very frankly 'a baby should be baptised within the first few weeks of life and you should enquire about it before the baby is born'. Baptism dates are now booked up until October. Ideally we would have Baby Butter baptised much earlier but we moved house etc. Just wanted to know how young/old anyone else's baby was when they were baptised. Thanks x
  6. Thank you ElmGrove and kellyg. Will give it a go.x
  7. Hi all, I have three monster callus's on my right foot and two on my left. Can anyone recommend a foot clinic to have them treated? They can be painful at times and even walking on the hard floor of my kitchen and bathroom can feel uncomfortable. I'm looking into buying some gel socks at the moment. I have tried the whole soaking feet in epsom salts and then scrubbing with a pumice but the salt soak just makes the callus even tougher in my opinion, plus the water cools down really quickly. At the moment I just use a pumice on the callus's when I have a bath and I use Flexitol callus remover cream on them but I really do need some effective relief on these bad boys. Can anyone help please? xx
  8. Thank you for your advice. Now going down the childminder route. If by any chance someone know of a great childminder or nanny for Fridays only please give me a shout. thanks xx
  9. I am returning to work in the Autumn and at the moment I'm looking at childcare options. Somebody told me about a nursery which is on the sight of Sainsbury's at Dog Kennel Hill-googled it and found out it's Dulwich Nursery. Does anyone know of this nursery/had experience/can recommend or not recommend etc? All I know is that they achieved outstanding in their last OFSTED report. Also does anyone know where Magical Moments nursery is? I'm not sure if this one is just a creche or daycare. Thanks xx
  10. As I started this thread I would just like to respond to the latest post by tllm2- Tom, the Ludlow guy is crawling on his hands and knees here on this forum-he just wants to keep the customer loyalty of the East Dulwich people- after all, isn't that what keeps a business IN business? To sum it up Ludlow Thompson are data entry, penpushing crooks!
  11. Hi all, In need of some advice. Last night me and my partner put in an offer on a 2 bed flat rental with ludlow thompson. We paid a ?500 reservation fee to do this. Today I got confirmation that our offer has been accepted by the landlord and that we should pay a further ?500 which will be deducted from the total amount due. My partner seems to think it is a rip off. Having calculated everything included in the total amount due which includes the admin fee, this ?500 seems to be coming from thin air. We haven't proceeded further as yet because we are going to discuss things etc. Are we being ripped off by ludlow? Comments/suggestions welcome. Thanks!
  12. Loving Fox's Butter Crinkles for dunking at the moment
  13. Thank you all for your help and merry xmas!
  14. Hi all, I'm looking to buy my boyfriend a bottle of good quality single malt whiskey for xmas. Doesn't matter how much it costs- I recently got my dad a bottle of Remy XO for nearly ?100. I have no clue about whiskey and I want to get my boyfriend something good. If anyone can help/suggest that would be great. Thanks!
  15. Thank you for starting this thread-my one ended up getting heated! Thank you for your advice and opinions. I will still continue my plan of bf to start with. I have decided to pack 3 small bottles of formula just incase, even if I don't use it. Midivydale- I haven't got a pm from you in my inbox but thanks for the reply anyway! x
  16. Thank you all for the advice-and yes Bouncy, my bag is rather full to bursting! I haven't packed any special towels for baby, or books or food. In actual fact the thing that is limiting space in my bag are the maternity pads! I've just put the whole pack of 24 pads in my bag just so I feel ultra protected knowing I'm prepared with my own supply in that department. I not sure if it's silly of me to bring the whole pack-perhaps it is, but hey! Also I think there is a pressure to breast feed. My partner wants me to breast feed for the first 6 months but I have told him that I want to do it during our time in hospital and once we arrive home until the bottles are sterilised and made. He's not too happy about this but I've said it's my body and it's what I want to do.
  17. Just to say the hospital that I'm booked into does not provide milk, so I'm thinking of it as a back-up also
  18. Thank you, I'm a first time mum and I'm finding now that as my due date approaches I'm worrying about those little things as I'm a very organised person!
  19. Hello, I'm due to give birth in 3 weeks. My hospital bag is packed (almost!) and I am planning on breastfeeding during my time in hospital and for the first hours once we arrive home. Now, I'm debating whether or not to bring in my hospital bag one of those newborn milk starter packs incase I can't get baby latched on correctly or I don't like the feel of it etc. I know there will be support at hand and I do want to try breastfeeding just to give baby the colostrum as a good start. I do plan to bottle feed in the long run and have all the equipment and formula milk, but to start with I feel that I want to give breastfeeding a go. So, I'm really not sure if I should bring some milk with me to hospital incase my breastfeed intentions do not go to plan. Any advice and opinions are greatly needed!! Thank you
  20. Hello all, I will be 37 weeks pregnant tomorrow. My partner was speaking to a yoga instructor/reflexologist friend of his and she was reccomending some reflxology sessions for me. I have read a bit of info online but nothing has really stood out to make me go for the sessions. Just wanted anyone's opinions/experience on this. Thanks!
  21. Thank you! I guess I will give it a go to ease the pressure.
  22. Hello all, I'm 35 weeks pregnant and have a small hernia in the groin area. I'm considering buying a maternity support belt to take the weight off. Has anyone used one of these for such a problem and if so was it useful/helpful? I do have a midwife app this week but just thought I'd get a few opinions from mums out there. Thanks!
  23. Thanks for your response lilygogan. Just goes to show this measuring method is not a guide at all. I also weighed 7lb 3oz at birth!
