The answer dear Tarzan is this - Formation of clique.

You play dirty Hugue, life in Singapore must be treating you well.B)

Be fair Hugue if you are going to copy and paste, don't be selective. Herbalists are not getting rich as you have stated. The cuts affect lots of different groups. On 2 June 2010 a statement by the parliamentary under-secretary of state for health, Anne Milton, indicated that the coalition government was in no hurry to publish a report on the DH consultation 2009 or to reverse Andy Burnham?s stance on SR and the CNHC.12 Undoubtedly the EHTPA will once again engage in vigorous lobbying of the new Health Minister and encourage herbalists to do the same, but realistically SR for herbalists is unlikely to receive serious consideration by any UK government in the foreseeable future. In the current political context of drastic spending cuts, throwing money at SR for herbalists won?t be very high on the coalition government?s list of priorities. After a decade of lobbying for state regulation and incurring substantial costs which have been borne by herbalists who can ill-afford them, what has the EHTPA delivered? Not the promised SSR or SR, but voluntary regulation (VR) ? something herbalists already have. Further, the EHTPA must also take some responsibility for the creation of a herbal medicine education bubble by accrediting an unsustainable number of university courses. Three of these (including The Scottish School of Herbal Medicine) have recently closed and more are very likely to follow, particularly as the previous government cut ?950 million from higher education spending. The EHTPA is supposedly dedicated to protecting and preserving the practice of herbal medicine from EU legislation, yet herbal medicine in the UK is more vulnerable than ever to the harmonisation policies of bureaucrats in Brussels. On a number of counts the EHPTA has failed to deliver. edited to make easier reading.

Thanks Hugue, what are you doing up so late dude? Off to bed with you now and dont forget to pray.

BTW Hugue, my comment about thousands of people dieing/suffering from side-effects from allopathics was not intended to say that people should not take them, it was comparing it to the case that DC mentioned about ONE person suffering side-effects from a banned chinese herb.

Apologies to annaj if i am trying to own annaj's comments, not intended. Drugs have their place, TCM has its place and so does any other form of therapy that people find of use whether it helps them on an emotional, spiritual or physical level. I have never tried Reiki but somebody on this thread mentioned that it helped them. Why the F**k put it down and dismiss it? Some people may not be attuned or grounded enough to receive healing but everyone has healing capabilities. Jesus healed right? Bring it on.

Annaj, hats off to you for staying on this discussion after bowing out. I wonder what active ingredients they will discover on Mars when they send out the two couples that have agreed not to return to earth and what disease those actives they may be able to cure. Until then there are only closed minds and drugs with side-effects and my question was not answered about the thousands of people that suffer and die from these horrendous side-effects from allopathic medicine.

Nice post Saila. Mockney- the force is always with you, just believe in it.

Relevant way to sign your post, nice one. When you get to Vietnam hopefully you will not need local remedies to help you with diarrhoea and parasites. If you are looking for advice on chinese herbs don't ask some quack on some high street who is not qualified and not insured but why not ask a local TCM practitioner as recommended on here, that's if they see you. Hopefully you will have more respect for cultures and practices whilst you are in Asia. Have a nice holiday.

Thank Dita and LM for your cooking advice. Have not had a chance to prep anything yet due to being in Kings last night (no bar fight i promise). Today will be a yummy day. Ta.

Morning. Does anybody have a good recipe for making a mushroom sauce for a grilled chicken & sauteed potato dish. Thanks

*hugs big sis* Thanks David for that, i happen to own several shops and properties in your area and in London and i have always been open enough about that and i have vested interests in several sectors and i am not promoting anything in particular. I find what you say about this subject very closed and i am not alone in thinking that it seems. We are all entitled to our opinions. I wonder what your day job is, Doctor.B)

One road leads to another, new places are found new herbs are found, that world cannot be dismissed.

Thanks annaj, wouldn't expect you to turn pro-woo, respect though.

Dear David, go on son, try and use the word prescribed, it will be good for you. Chinese herbalists and Western herbalists that are registered and insured cannot use banned substances and that one case(sad as it is)is unfortunate. What about the thousands of people that have suffered injury from being prescribed allopathic meds, turning them suicidal, depressed, homicidal, giving them brain damage, paralysis and more or don't you want to talk about that?
-
Thanks Sue. Anybody that has used conventional and complementary meds will know what works for them. Some people are just blinkered and naive and maybe they should open their minds. Experience helps in this.
-
David, if you ever get ill (and god forbid it) would be interesting to see what treatments/therapies/support you would look for. There are alot of quacks out there though. In the West thousands of people a year die from conventional medicine. Perhaps you need to cut down on the marrow.
-
That's funny. At least point 43 is in English and you would know exactly what to do.:))
-
What annaj has said is nicely balanced IMO. Carnell you wide boy, you should be ashamed of yourself for downloading your degree from the net. You probably have never tried TCM or CT before but you are quick enough to completely dismiss it but this is a forum and everybody is entitled to their opinion quite rightly. TCM has been around and used for 5000 years. Your drugs full of side-effects have not. Wide boy.

fair enough, i meant generally though and not pointing at Sally81 even though it's her thread. I can remove the post if she wishes.

*bows down to the queen* then :))
