  1. Thanks for this. Can I ask (I know I should know this by now) what age are kids when they take the key stage 2 tests? Thanks
  2. We've booked to see Lost and Found on 16th Jan. Thanks everyone. Didn't realise there was so much choice for this age group.
  3. Thank you, looks perfect. Shame they are so booked up but if we don't manage to get seats for this one I will keep an eye out for their next production.
  4. Can anybody recommend a panto (preferaly fairly local) that's suitable for pre schoolers? We took them to see Mother Goose in Greenwich last year and they were so scared we had to leave before the interval. There was a scary witch who kept appearing with a big bang and lots of smoke. Are they all scary these days or should we give it another go? Thanks S
  5. My two STILL wake at 5am so this morning it was 4. Nothing short of hell!
  6. an easel with a blackboard on one side, whiteboard on the other and you can clip paper to it to paint. She loves drawing on the whiteboard and then wiping it clean again - never tires of it.
  7. thanks for that expat. I probably won't let her know. This morning all I've said is: 'I don't know' 'I still don't know' 'Ask daddy' Hopefully this strategy will see me through until they are in school and somebody else can answer the questions.
  8. No you won't have a willy when you are older. No you do not need one. No your best friend Melanie does not have a willy. No she doesn't. Boobies are better anyway.
  9. No, it's not the morning yet. No, it's still not the morning, it's the middle of the night. Oh ok then we can go downstairs but please don't wake your ... oh, bugger.
  10. I shop in this co-op every week or so and have not yet had my bank account cleared out within hours of using my debit card in the chip'n'pin machine. On this basis I conclude a marked improvement over Somerfield.
  11. When your child turns three (s)he is entitled to 12.5 hours free at nursery per week, regardless of whether it's a private nursery or not. Makes a huge difference. Praying the next Government doesn't scrap it ...
  12. My son was very happy to get on the buggy board aged just under two and we now have the younger one on the buggy board (she is now two and three months but has been on the buggy board for about 6 months) while the lazy three year old sits in the buggy. We have a bugaboo Frog which has quite a spacious buggy board attachment, quite comfy for them I think. We also have a Jane powertwin which is great. If you want to try it out let me know - we hardly use it any more so you are welcome to give it a spin. S
  13. Thanks everyone for your info and support. I'm an auntie since Thursday morning to a little boy!
  14. She's at Kings. When she arrived at the hospital they nearly sent her home again because she had a show the night before and had some hopeful signs. But was only 1cm dilated so they kept her in. As luck would have it I'm meant to be going on holiday tomorrow!
  15. thank you both. I won't open the bubbles just yet! She is 42 weeks + 2 so surely the baby must be ready to meet us!
  16. Apparently there is a pessary, but how long after that do you typically go into labour? How long should it be before baby is born? Many thanks if you can fill me in. Just wondering if I'll be an Auntie today! S x
  17. There may be a Puddleduck pre-school, it's a common name for nurseries and the like, but the one you're referring to which used to be at the Goose Green centre is a private day nursery for kids from age 2.
  18. Hi Details below: Puddleduck Nursery Merttins Road, London, SE15 3EB 020 7252 8448? The details are correct - my children go there now, it's great x S
  19. My baby was back to back (ie posterior not breech) and I gave birth to him naturally with no problems. It was a long labour but not a great deal longer than most labours for a first child. Don't worry too much. Good luck x S
  20. Thank you busymum. Fingers crossed they will have something to offer us in the new year.
  21. Thanks again Lorraine. It will be good to know somebody there. I'm due to go and see Shelley next week so that will help me to make my mind up. She sounded great on the phone.
  22. Thanks Lorraine! That sounds promising. My two will be in the main room. Does anybody else have any views on how it's going? My eldest was at Bojangles and went through lots of change due to staffing problems and then of course the nursery shut down! So I am quite keen to make sure they don't go through any of that again.
  23. Does anybody have any views on how the new management at Dulwich nursery (Sainsbury's car park) is going? Have there been any staff turnover issues or any change in standards, better or worse? Many thanks! S
  24. Thanks for replying, that's good news. I was impressed when I looked round. It's a lovely, bright, modern building and the staff are attentive. Nice outside space too.
