Inpost "Parcel was refused" at Barry's - anyone else?
peckhambog replied to fishboy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Staff at Barry’s took my details and said they contact me if they received it (that was Friday when it was recorded as being delivered.) They didn’t. Visited the store today to see what was going on and they produced the item. I won’t be using them again as a delivery option. -

My parcel is meant to be in now but the staff could not find it. So frustrating. -

I likewise keep getting delivery attempted at Barry’s but unsuccessful on 28th and 29th. Still undelivered. -
Saw sand on the floor of the medium lane in the pool yesterday (Friday 24th). How does it get there? I thought that was the indicator the filters have a problem. The water itself seemed clean and clear.

Unable to provide any information. (I wouldn't blame the staff member for that.)

Rang the Leisure Centre this afternoon to check on where they were with the 22nd September re-opening of the pool. Regrettably the work is not done yet and they have no date at present. Hopefully they'll reflect this on the web site /app soon.

Saw five swifts squealing and feeding at 20:48 this evening around the Barry Road/Underhill Road junction.

Under Section 3 of Criminal Law Act 1967 ANY PERSON may use such force as necessary in the prevention of crime or assisting in the arrest of offenders or suspected offenders. Key message is the force used must be proportionate. Sadly many of these offenders carry knives (such as the two who stabbed people in Bishopsgate when bystanders intervened. The offenders were subsequently tracked down but it might have been a murder enquiry but for a few millimetres.) Therefore robust action should only be taken if you are confident. As per the previous post, your actions will be scrutinised but could be completely lawful.

It is all down to the wind direction. We've had two years of respite but today's westerly means we are receiving all the leftovers! (On the east side of the Rye, a couple of streets away.)
