  1. Three were still in one piece on March 1st.
  2. I nearly got run over on a narrow path (that runs towards Strakers Road) on Peckham Rye on Wednesday evening. I'd estimate there were in the region of 60-80. I think the lack of lighting and my dark attire may have contributed. Being a runner I was more in admiration than consternation but I can appreciate how it may seem a little intimidating. They do talk in raised voices (naturally) as they chat on their excursion but sadly the only words that the passerby catches is the expletive that seems to be a universal adjective these days .
  3. The Southern website says they've had the topping off ceremony on August 22nd for the 6th floor. Completion due 2025. https://www.southernhousing.org.uk/latest-news/2023/milestone-at-our-southwark-development Although the HG website has a picture of a building with 11 levels. https://www.hgconstruction.co.uk/new-scheme-at-glengall-road/
  4. You will have to pay up I'm afraid. I ran foul of the Old Kent Road one when doing a particularly large shop but was able to provide receipts to the charging company from Lidl and they waived it. I fear if you haven't been using Lidl you will struggle to find any mitigating circumstances.
  5. With Southwark resident account it's 90p I think
  6. This poster is attached to the fencing. It looks like only the resurfacing is required to finish the project.
  7. I was very unhappy with the complete lack of service or quality Balfe Bikes delivered and so wrote a review on Trust Pilot explaining the serious issues. After I had submitted it, I was surprised to see that others likewise had been let down and left negative reviews. I understand most satisfied won't be bothered to leave a complimentary review, but am interested to know if the problems in their workshop and workmanship are common or a more exception?
  8. Went through at 12:20. Pedestrian traffic is not easy to negotiate through. I found picking my bike up off the ground, rather than wheeling it at pinch points, made it easier.
  9. Dawson Heights has been featured on Storror?s YouTube channel. The local police get a big thumbs up too, which is a nice touch. I can?t place the second location they visit.
  10. That the noise levels to be maintained in accordance with the Noise Policy within the maximum expected to be between 67 and 73 decibels without exceeding 75 decibels at any time at local residential properties. All readings to be available for inspection by London Borough of Southwark officers and the Metropolitan Police.

  12. At 16:50 today a black scooter hazarded its way north up Peckham Rye with two young people on board, maybe 15/16 years old. Scooter has a white 'foreign' number plate on the rear with vehicle index M83 2820. Went through a red light past an on coming bus and continued up towards Copeland Road. Both had dark helmets and balaclavas on underneath though I could see the driver was IC1 and the pillion IC3. Though the driver was in all black, the pillion had light grey top and bottom type of track suit.
  13. I have a lot of trouble with cyclists travelling northbound not using the empty bus lane but migrating automatically onto the southbound cycle path and expecting the southbound traffic to go into the pedestrian area.
  14. A 242 caught fire on Cheapside late on 12th March. I spoke to the bus area supervisor who turned up and he told me generally they have one a year. Mechanical breakage in one of the seven belts in engine compartment at rear; if the damaged part doesn't fall clear but fouls/damages other moving parts there is a rapid heat build up.
  15. James, Does your Lib Dem email box get seen by you? I sent a messsage to you but haven't had any feed back. The message was in response to the last info email you put out. Regards
  16. The current signage indicates the speed limit is 30mph. I certainly welcome a drop to 20mph with good signage and some enforcement to train users' behaviour. 17. Hi James, Thanks for the feedback. I note you write "isn't any longer" suggesting it has previously been a crash hot spot. Yet in the last month there was an incident of a speeding vehicle clipping a pedestrian substantially damaging itself and another vehicle, and putting a third vehicle out of service. I understand the competition for scarce resources, but how many full scale tragedies are required before action is taken? Granted you are seeking some intervention but the speed limit is 30mph. Average speed cameras might be set at 35-39mph; that is TOO fast. The road needs breaking up/disrupting the momentum that can be achieved flying down the hill. Still appreciative of your interest and input with this problem. Thank you. 18. I wonder if for Barry Road the pedestrian crossing near the junction with Underhill Road was taken out and the actual vehicle traffic at that junction was regulated by ATS with a pedestrian 'Barnes dance' scramble phase would have three benefits: 1. Allow pedestrians to safely traverse the road at any point of the junction (instead of currently having to cross unregulated parts first to get to the crossing), 2. Allow traffic crossing or turning into Barry Road from either side of Underhill Road to be protected from the limited visibility of traffic 'thundering down Barry Road at considerable speeds, 3. Break up the drag strip length that vehicles knowing they have priority hurtle along. I begrudge that motorists may on seeing the green or orange light in the distance increase their velocity to 'make it'. But if the phases for cross traffic and pedestrians are long enough it may train road users to traverse the length of Barry Road with patience. I wonder if this strategy has been considered or ruled out previously and what factors am I not foreseeing?

  20. I realise this is too late for the OP but for other readers please see that cable locks "don't cut it" for any sort of bike security. Slightly longer video below gives practical advice.
  21. The link below gives details about a team who go after gangs. If you see something suspicious call 101. If a crime is in progress 999. http://www.financialfraudaction.org.uk/Police-The-dcpcu.asp
