  1. Have edited previous post as I'd forgotten to put price on there, sorry. It's ?8 and very worth it.
  2. Recommendation for a Yoga Class held upstairs at The Patch, Lordship Lane on Wednesdays at 09.30am. Price ?8 I went to this hour long class last week, which is run by a really friendly and knowledgeable yoga teacher called Nicola. I'm recovering from a foot operation and she gave me alternatives to the poses I struggled with, and she had a wonderfully peaceful effect on the class. I thought the class was really really good for all levels, and I'm going back this week. I think you can just turn up on the day, and its on a first come first served basis. I picked up a flyer from the class which gives her email address as [email protected] and mobile as 07928 734220.
  3. Had this guy come round to clean my windows today. There were two of them and they did a great job - very thorough first clean, and very considerate with the internal window clean (wore shoe coverings etc). Very reasonably priced given I'd not had the windows cleaned for years. Suleiman - 07748 114 286
  4. I have 2 chairs I need to transport to a client in Albania. Any ideas of how I can most cost effectively go about it? Thanks :)
  5. Just giving this another boost !! First session of the course was on Tuesday afternoon, and there are still plenty of spaces for new learners.
  6. Classes are held at the Thomas Carlton Centre in Peckham, and run by an experienced upholsterer and patient teacher. I am a student on her course. Currently Tuesday afternoon session (1-3.30pm) has space for new learners. Anywhere else these types of courses cost thousands, but this one is only ?97 for the whole term (10 sessions of 3.5 hours) if you're a new learner. I'm giving it a genuine thumbs up and would encourage anyone with an interest in furniture to come and join the class. You can be a total beginner or a experienced hand, Jan's teaching is individual, and you'll come away with one or two upholstery projects, and the skills to complete more on your own if you have the interest. Next class is tomorrow 8th Jan at 1pm, or you may be able to join in the following week if that's too soon. You'll need to bring a chair with a "drop-in" seat - eg like a dining table chair with a seat you can pull out and take with you. Call The Thomas Carlton Centre on 0207 358 2100 to book for Tuesday pm's class.

  8. I don't know I'm afraid, sorry. Again worth calling Monday I should say. All the best.
  9. Hi there. It's probably just because term hasn't started yet. I imagine its next Monday, so worth calling then. The Tuesday 1-3:30 session generally has spaces left. Good luck, hope to see you there as I'm signed up for another term. Boots
  10. Hi Huggers I dont imagine it's too late, but I guess you've missed two weeks of the course, and I don't know if they pro-rata the fees. Best to call the centre I think. All the best. You'll want to bring down a drop in seat/chair if you do join next week.
  11. Hi Zeban I'm afraid in this instance you're wrong. Let me explain.. We are at the start of a new academic year, and as such everyone, including repeat learners, are considered "new" students and so the maximum anyone has to pay for this course/term is ?97 I quoted. In addition I believe there may be other concessions available for people on benefits. All the best
  12. Just a final post to encourage anyone interested in upholstery to come down for a 1pm start tomorrow (Tuesday 2nd), it's only ?97 for the whole term (9 weeks).
  13. Hi there My neighbour has done this course several times, and introduced me. You can read the syllabus on here - http://www.southwark.gov.uk/downloads/download/2481/southwark_council_adult_learning_service Definitely worth looking into for next term. All the best
