  1. I've just voted for your painting and have sent you a PM for more info about your work and to go on your mailing list re: future exhibitions.
  2. Thanks to everyone who has replied so far especially Saffron, Robert Poste's child and Binkyliliput for taking the time to respond. I haven't taken any pills yet and if I do, it will only be one or two. It's helpful to be able to share the situation with you, and I do know this is a temporary situation for me and also that a lot of people are going through a lot worse.
  3. After a very stressful year coping with involving family illnesses and spending all last summer at 4 different hospitals with them, selling elderly parents' home , a mother-in-law with dementia who phones us up to 30 times a night, work stress and more, this week it all got too much and I went to the GP. He has prescribed 2mg diazepam / Valium to be taken as and when I need it for a couple of weeks. I've tried to make do with various herbal remedies so far but they aren't really easing the symptoms of feeling sick, loss of appetite, dry mouth, very tense shoulders etc. We are going on holiday soon which will involve a long haul flight and as I'm not a great flyer, I'm wondering whether the anxiety symptoms will get even worse when I'm on the plane so am trying to decide whether to take the Valium prior to the flight.I'd be interested to hear from anyone with experience of taking Valium as a short term aid to stress. If I do take it, should I avoid alcohol altogether? I'd also like suggestions of the most effective herbal or homeopathic remedies in case there are some I've missed. Thanks!
  4. 3or 4 of us are planning to take part in the Dulwich Open Studios this coming May (1st weekend only) and would really appreciate and feedback from other local artists who have taken part in open studios in /around Dulwich the past. We have quite a wide range of styles between us ranging from quite small, graphic still lives through to large abstract paintings and photography. It would be great to hear what sort of themes and sizes of art works are most popular - and price ranges?
  5. My iphone needed repairing so I got someone recommended on this forum to fix it. The problem was relatively minor before but now it is overheating and keeps crashing etc etc. The repair person is going to try and fix it next week but where do I stand if they can't, and I have to get another or pay for someone else to sort it? Ive probably got emails or texts explaining what the original problem was but no other documentation from this sole trader.....
  6. Design studio looking to relocate to light, well designed office space of around 1000-1200 sq feet within 15 minutes walk of London bridge for a minimum of 1-2 year let. Does anyone have any contacts/recommendations in this area?
  7. Can anyone recommend a solicitor I can speak to for some general advice on dissolving a small limited company due to differences between partners? At this stage we just need to speak to someone to find out where we both stand legally, and to try and find the least acrimonious approach for all concerned.
  8. I normally like to give positive recommends but have to say I'd suggest you avoid LCS in Northcross road - they have made many mistakes in various aspects of doing our accounts over a period of time and have needed constant reminders to file our accounts on time etc. They may be fine for other companies but that has not been our experience.
  9. Thanks for those suggestions Vicki- the idea of 30 mins free advice is really good to get started.
  10. Has anyone used a good lawyer for legal advice in a situation involving a partnership split in a business? A colleague of mine has quite a large interior design business and wants to discuss all the legal implications of dissolving a partnership/ business. There are several directors and shareholders involved. Although they are based locally, he is happy to travel to get the right legal advice if necessary.
  11. The plans of the location / neighbouring buildings are about 20 years out of date, as they still show the residential flats in St Clement's Yard as a school and it has not been a school since about 1993!!! They also show outbuildings which were part of the school and these were demolished in 1994. The new building would overlook residential properties and their gardens, not a school.
