For those that care to read the whole item I wrote. I also would welcome people telling me their views individually. The questionaire specifically wanted to find which streets people supported controlled parking and how if neighbouring streets had controlled parking would change, if at all, residents views of controlled parking on their streets. I haven't made up my mind but I am worried that the cheap easy politics of this is to go with the do nothing option and make soft soapy noises to people on the streets that feel angry about parking pressures. The report didn't make it clear that over the last three years of the 130 complaints made to Southwark about parking pressures 44 were on these streets.
  2. Council officers have confirmed this advertisement would need advertising consent and none has been applied for and it will be investigated.
  3. I contacted council officials to ask whether this trailer met advertising rules/laws. With Xmas holidays I've yet to have a response.
  4. Hi Giles, This whole consultation has proven very controversial. So I'm not going to make any knee jerk reactions and to be honest I'm on my holidays from non urgent stuff until the new year. Out of curiosity who leaked the report to you?

  6. Hi Sue, I was only aware of this one for East Dulwich. However, you're correct others across the rest of Southwark have started to be applied for and some have been successful.
  7. The consultation was of individual streets and whether they wanted to have some degree of controlled parking or not and be part of a scheme or not. The questions specifically asked how residents would feel if a neighbouring street had controlled parking and whether that would change their view. So all of the proposed options have been consulted upon. I'm looking forward to tomorrow when the report is published and everyone can read it. If no one else does I'll be, as promised previously, posting a link to it. I think it is very unfortunate that the embargoed report has been quoted 14hours earlier than its public release date. This risks making council officers and information more closely guarded in the future to ensure it is released to everyone at the same time.
  8. The planning application for a 9 foot advertising hoarding in the pavement outside East Dulwich station has been refused by planning officers.
  9. I suspect the red ugly vans will be changed in the New Year for newer ugly vans tar conform to te emissions legislation but I doubt the problem will go away. They clearly have a business model of battered old vans with graffiti style advertising on them and clearly this advertising works else they'd have stopped years ago.

  11. William Rowe was a councillor a long time ago. If you have post for him as a councillor then would suggest you forward to Cllr Lewis Robinson who I'm assured is still in touch with him OR return it to sender.
  12. I'm expecting the officers report to be published next week and incolude the raw data as an appendice. Can everyone wait until then before saying how rubbish councillors are or officers. Equally saying the council wont share the raw data, when I've been assured and repeated that assurance here that it will be in the appendix, is unhelpful.
  13. Hi grisett, My understanding is the report will have this data as an appendix. I asked for this so that the raw data is made widely available. I wasn't aware it would overlap your FOI but it should have the same result. I've also asked that the report if at all possible be released before Xmas. Normally it would be released 7 days before the community council meeting on 10/1 but hopefully it can be released nearly a fortnight earlier. Overall I think this serves the community better getting a report out two weeks earleir and making the raw data available to everyone.
  14. Hi ed_pete, I agree. Better than what was before but not ideal. I had asked that the new Puffin crossing be a Toucan crossing. But adjusting the Puffin is relatively stragiht forward and I will work towards than. It wont be quick.
  15. Sorry Miacis but you're stuck with this. The vans although ugly are licensed and taxed and its public highway. If you had controlled parking they would'nt get permit as not residents but that a whole can of worms I'm not suggesting to you.
  16. I believe this application is about selling the current ground for redevelopment and replacing it on the Metropolitan Open Land behind. As it is DH is trying to sell its car park for flats to be built on it.

  18. Council officers have reconfirmed that Hindman's Road is meant to be swept every 4 weeks and litter picked every other day under the new reduced environment regime. Many thanks for the kind resident on Hindman's Road who agree to provide a set of pictures for every day of the week before last showing that if litter picking was taking place no litter was being picked up! It proved the point emphatically. Council managers have now stated "There has been no disruption to the service however the photos provided by your constituent clearly show that the quality of work was not to an acceptable standard and the cleaning operatives concerned have been spoken to about this matter." Fingers cross this solves the Hindmans Road litter problem and other streets these operatives work on. ...unless you know differently...
  19. Hi ktbg, I was told they stopped providing bags with handles to save money. Cuncil officials agreed an experiment with tow of the Friern Road blocks having bags with handles and two without and then to compare the results in terms of number of bags used and amount recycled. I've yet to receive the results and the trial was meant to have started many many months ago. Personally, not having handles REALLY puts me of off food waste collections. I do it but as you say the bags are much less full and balacning a bag while trying to tie knots in the bag is a problem for me. Mrs TP, I'm sorry I've not obtained a reply from officers yet and I should have told you it was taking time. Sorry.
  20. Hi Peckhamboy, You're right this is very odd. The contraflows were one of my suggestions when the original Grove Vale plans we proposed along with contraflow out onto Grove Vale. In fact tat Puffin crossing should really be a Toucan crossing. ReAlly not sure what has happened to get to this at best piece meal Implimentation but have asked and will feedback as soon as know what is happening.
  21. Hi ed_pete, Peckhamboy, My understanding was tht the Grove Vale junction would allow cyclists out. Before that junction is made cycle friendly it would be useful for residents living along there. Hi trizza, Let me ask again. Hi flocker spotter, Yes, I agree.

I've been assured that parking enforcement will be stepped up to avoid this occurence while ther designating loading bay for the development work is in place. BUT please do keep me posted on this. I rarely travel along Rye Lane preferring Green Lane.
