The original post is about loud drumming keeping his kids awake past 9pm. It was posted the day after a school night home game for DHFC. I would hope that fans and the club would respond positively - perhaps some parts of the ground accentuate drumming noises leaving the ground and other parts don't. Being smarter about where drumming takes place might make all the difference. Legislation about public nuisance is such that taking a more positive line on this will reduce the chance of that legislation being followed by neighbours. I would hope self preservation would result in s less bullish attitude. The club has undertaken some great community engagement. Perhaps some of this needs to be directed at neighbours. This also stresses to me the lunacy of thinking adding 200 expensive flats even closer to a new adjacent ground would ensure the long-term survival of the club. It will result in a closer parallel to the Imperial Gardens fiasco - new flats built next to night club and night club closed due to noise of comings and goings.

Hi Abe_froeman, So far TfL London Overground have increased quality of stations, trains and frequency of services on routes they've taken over or created. These factors have led to huge increases compared to past actual passenger number and forecast growth. So any train service could be reduced but in my opinion this would be less likely if it's a growing service taken on by TfL London Overground. One but is the planned drastic reduction in TfL funding by Tory chancellor George Osborne.

Hi Bil, Yes, TfL are seeking to take over various suburban train routes in south London and upgrade them to the London Overground style of operation. But they'd still have the issues of London Bridge station being at best chaotic until 2018.

Hi mikeb, I think that's the point. It isn't clear it will be kept in such a way people find useful for their kids. A petition could be clear about what it's looking to remain - 6 days a week. Mon-Fri 3.30-5.30, Sat/Sun 10am-4pm for example. OR you could produce an online survey exlainign what's there now and asking Q's around it.

Hi wolfhound, NR have refused a new station at Camberwell in the past unless they closed Loughborough Junction. I'd suggest an attitude that trains are somebody elses problems. The current administration has just refused to help fund some station accessibility. When ED councillors suggested we go halves with South Camberwell councillors to fund some East Dulwich station (the ward boundary goes down the middle of those tracks) they blanked us. We proceeded to fully fund additional passenger cover ourselves. Hi Otta, Providing central fireworks displays are often part of a strategy to minimise firework night issues for communities. I've not seen the overall council/police/fire/ambulance strategy for minimising firework harm so can't confirm this is the case for Southwark but I'd be surprised if it isn't. No councillor especially Renata wants to see facilities closed for any section of our community cut or closed. The latest Tory cuts are not necessary and are about a huge fundamental change in the proportion of national income spent on public services. Ideology over practicality. Equally presenting the total cuts as one number, even though it covers several years, implies to many that the cuts are for that year alone. It's part of what drives the Labour led administration at Southwark to push for so many new homes - especially 2 bedroom flats in skyscrapers. These new homes occupants generally use few council services but each bring in new homes bonus and council tax. This has and is softening the cuts - but is radically changing the face of Southwark in my mind for the worse. The other factor is getting to keep a proportion of business rates 30% and in the future 100% from 2017 when the riverside area of Southwark is seeing so much more development delivering business rates. Again softening these harsh cuts. For those who'd like to help ensure the adventure playground remains start a public online petition.

Sounds a really painful trip for you and others. Although I am a councillor for East Dulwich that is a councillor for the London Borough of Southwark. So you can report any issue to any Southwark councillor but usually your ward is recommended. A new station if served by Sevenoaks route could be really useful for Camberwell. Moves afoot to transfer the Sevenoaks route to TfL and it come under the London Overground umbrella. That would be a minimum of 4 train per hour, better stations, London Overground ticketing. Clearly not as useful as a Bakerloo extension. But it could happen much much quicker than 2030. Also plans afoot for a tram route from Camberwell to London Bridge. Both together could be a useful alternative to a Bakerloo line extension.

It isn't illegal. We don't have the mechanisms to differentiate parking between vans which block sight lines and other vehicles. The good news dramatically were crashes at this junction than the past. Other junctions now need to be addressed before we return to this unless the vans continue - in which case double yellow lines is them out likely result there.

You can get metal property marking kits to deter this. But it isn't cheap. Some years ago we funded some of this for lead roofs in the area to prevent such crime. if we see any of this crime in our areas I will organise some of this metal marking kit stuff. Uncleglen, How awful for your sister - especially at being the victim of such a freak avoidable crash. This morning am dash to work spotted a cyclist on the pavement cycling at speed either side of Oval tube station. Never a Police officer when you need one. I think we all want reckless cyclists, whether on the pavement or highway, stopped by the Police and deterred. Much as we have driver education courses we need the same for bad cycling.

Hi P68, Those early bus termination are a result 'regulating the timetable' and turning buses around to get them back on timetable. Of course bus drivers should have breaks. If you ever feel the crowding is dangerous then you should report the incident to the Office of Rail Regulation -https://raildata.orr.gov.uk/riddor/ If enough incidents are reported I'm sure they will investigate. I have also asked them to proactively investigate citing the reasons of this thread - I've also experienced them and frankly scary how many people are being crammed together.

Hi P68, Let me try and get the facts on this. Bues stripping short is often the result of road works which we seem to be particularly suffering recently - E&C, VHX. The thing that drives me nuts is changing bus drivers. Why do they do that mid way through a route. Bizarre. And why does it take so very long.

P13 In response to a casework query about poor service. " We continuously monitor the bus network to ensure we are providing the appropriate level of service for passenger demand. I can confirm there are no immediate plans to increase the frequency of route P13. We consider the current frequency is sufficient to match demand provided the service runs reliably. We have noted the concerns raised by Cllr Barber?s constituents and have investigated the reliability of the service. Route P13 has intermittently suffered from delays as a result of traffic congestion which we are aware has been more sporadic of late. Unfortunately, this has impacted afternoon journeys, and if a bus is delayed, there will be invariably more passengers waiting to get on the bus. This will give the impression of insufficient capacity. To mitigate the impact of the delays, Abellio, the bus company which operates the service on our behalf, has been taking regulatory measures to return the service to timetable. Route controllers intervene to ensure there is a good separation of buses to ensure continuity of services. For instance, if a bus is severely delayed the route controller may ask a driver to stop the bus short of its usual destination. While operators are encouraged to use other ways of recovering lost time this can be the most advantageous way to ensure customers travelling in the opposite direction do not have a lengthy wait. We of course ideally want services to operate without resorting to these measures. Rest assured we will continue to closely monitor the route?s performance to ensure it is operating as intended. This will also help us to identify any opportunities to initiate a scheme to improve the operation of the service. "

Just announced that government decision about SE England airport capacity - Heathrow 3rd runway - is being delayed by 6 months. So it seems pretty clear they do plan to agree Heathrow having a 3rd runway but are putting the decision off to after the London elections next May. If Zac Goldsmith become London Mayor he has said he would resign as an MP. He also said he'd resign if Heathrow selected for a 3rd runway. So looks pretty certain a by election that hopefully will become a referendum about this decision and the electorate will send clear unambiguous message to the government.

Hi P68, Southwark Council is the planning authority. SO I am hopeful if the TfL plans look good that the freeholder and leaseholder will agree as part of any planning agreement. But we have any steps before this could happen.
