  1. Another recommendation for John - he recently cleaned our 3 storey house (with several floor to ceiling windows and bifolds). He was very polite and friendly, did a great job, even continuing long after it had got dark! He quoted us by viewing the house online, and then reduced his price a bit when on-site - very fair. Top marks.
  2. Hi Kim, fab, thanks for the info! We're slowly getting used to life w two, having just had one for 5 years it's definitely more relentless... But wonderful of course in other ways! Look forward to meeting some new faces soon and discussing the highs/Lows! Jx
  3. Hi ladies All a bit late but found this group from a recommendation and would love to get the link to the FB page? I had my second DS on 21st November and would love to meet some mums w babies if similar age as my first is 5yrs old so all mummy friends there have toddlers already! I'm in Landells rd, ED. All the best, Jules x
  4. Don't bother with drainclear- NOT impressed, I booked an appointment between 1-2pm, it's now 3.30 and they haven't showed up, even though I've called and asked to be notified. Poor.
  5. Absolutely agree with the above - could not recommend Dave and his team (including Dan, the carpenter) more highly. They priced it reasonably, gave very good suggestions on materials and finishes, worked hard (even though the work ran over a bit) and offered great after care service - touching up bits that had been scuffed etc. Only problem is that he may become too booked up due to popularity!
  6. @larrylandell, just also in process of moving to Landells road, which nursery did you choose/get a place for in the end? we've got our 3 1/2 year old into Nelly's in Turney Road, Herne Hill, but it'll be a major treck/faff to get there then off to work each day...
  7. Hi there, an interesting book (though it doesn't mince words...!) is How not to f**k them Up by Oliver James (a v well respected child psychologist). It won't give you answers on the practicalities of finding nannies/nurseries etc, but it will give you lots of food for thought re which child are option might be the best for your child. It definitely Opened my eyes (even if it made for some uncomfortable reading sometimes...) Good luck with it all! Jules
