  1. I also can recommend Mark Newlove. Very professional and reliable. Giuliana
  2. We always use Revamp Interiors in Knights Hill (near the Post Office) they are very good and very pleasant to deal with.
  3. I can recommend Ray Coman, recommended elsewhere on this forum. He is thorough and efficient. He has been helping me with my self-employed tax returns for a few years. Giuliana
  4. I get mine washed at the car wash in Chesterfield Grove, off LL. ?10 for a basic inside and outside wash. The guys there are very poite and work very quickly
  5. Another recommendation for Mark Newlove. He responded promptly and fitted us in at short notice. Very pleasant and reasonably priced.
  6. The show is open until 6 pm today. The hut is tucked away from the road, but it is literally behind the pub, and there should be an easel with a big sign outside.
  7. Just to remind all Forumites interested that the Dulwich Art Group has moved from the Copleston Centre to our permanent premises at 4 Champion Hill (behind the Fox on the Hill pub)and we are hosting a group show of our talented painters. It may be slightly off the beaten track, but it is well worth a visit.
  8. I would sort of recommend the Dulwich Riding School if going further out of Dulwich is not an option for you. My daughter has had individual lessons there for a couple of years, and, although the tuition was a bit hit and miss, she mostly had good instructors and she has learned quite a lot. The best option is to ask for a semi-private lesson, either with a friend, or with somebody else. Very often it has happened that they did not have another person to go along, and she ended up having a private lesson, but at less cost. The management of the stables are a bit gruff, but when you get to know them they are OK. They only tend to ride out in the park at quiet times, and it is true that they rarely allow the horses to canter, although it does happen. Another option would be the stables at Mottingham, which we also have used. The riding there is a bit more satisfying because they have some land, and the teaching is usually good.
  9. I can also recommend Coman & Co. I too am freelance, and this is the second tax return I file with them. Giuliana
  10. Local French/Italian tutor, experienced and referenced, currently tutoring pupils from the Dulwich Foundation Schools, provides individual French and Italian IGCSE, GCSE, AS intensive tuition. The exam revision program, with particular emphasis on speaking/writing skills aims at consolidating exam strategies, developing confidence and maintaining focus for the best possible performance.
  11. Hello, has anybody had their noisy, squeaky and bouncy floor repaired? I was told I need to find somebody who is specialized in this kind of repair. Many thanks G

  14. I can second that. Reliable and reasonably priced.
  15. I don't know anybody on Ll, although the health food shop might have it. I get mine from Ocado, it is a Swedish make, and comes in big cubes, which you can freeze, and chip bits off as you need it. Lasts forever.
  16. We always use Revamp on Knights Hill, West Norwood, they are very good, and can come to your house to measure up and give advice, and fit afterwards. 020 8670 0970
  17. Look up Steve the Spin Doctor on this forum, we can recommend him, as can many many others on this forum. He is just great.
  18. Agree with Dun, I have used Alpine Dry cleaners in Grove Vale for about 10 years for both dry cleaning and altering, and they are brilliant.
  19. We go to Katherine Opie Smith in Dulwich Village. She is brilliant, albeit a bit expensive. Otherwise there is doctor Pereira in Herne hill who is bound to be cheaper( my daughter uses him under NHS). He is very zen and sweet, and has looked after our daughter since she was 5.
  20. I had a very positive experience, but that was almost 10 years ago. I found them very pleasant and professional
  21. I can recommend Robert Mills. I found him through recommendations on this forum, and he has done several jobs for us in the last 3 years. He is very reliable, fair and conscientious. Giuliana
  22. Local French tutor, experienced and referenced, offers individual French IGCSE intensive revision programme over two weeks in the Easter holidays. Ten-lesson programme for the best possible exam outcome. Free assessment. Please PM if interesed.
  23. Hi Deemob, I am a French and Italian tutor (French from my father's side and Italian from my mother's). I offer lessons in my home in Dulwich Village in the morning. I have been tutoring both adults and children in the Dulwich and East-Dulwich area for a few years, and can provide references. I can help you build on what you remember from your studies, and tailor the lessons according to your interests ( films, general conversation, housebuying, topical news, literature, grammar, art...). I am very patient and love teaching. I charge ?25.00 per hour. Please PM me if interested Giuliana
  24. I am looking for somebody to repair 4 sash windows, of the spring/spiral type. I have been quoted silly money to replace the whole windows, but I am pretty sure that if I found the right person, with experience in replacing the spring, I would not have to change them. The only thing that seems to be wrong with these windows is that they do not stay open anymore because the springs do not work. Any suggestions and/or recommendations very welcome Many thanks G
