  1. Hi I am just wondering if anyone knows what the general rules are about your rights to request neighbours trees are cut back. The specific questions is in reference to height - after last week storms we are concerned about a very tall tree and not sure if we can ask for the height to be reduced to a more reasonable and less precarious height. Def don't want them to take it out but just made a bit shorter. Thanks
  2. Hi I will second that they have just completed the downstairs of our Victorian terrace and it looks amazing. They managed to tie it in with our holidays and even fed the cats when we were away. Would definitely recommend Steve and Nicola at Back to Wood to others! Julie
  3. I am starting my twins with eos dance on sat mornings when term starts in jan
  4. Hi We are going to Courchevel this year with Skivo following an amazing trip last year. Travelled with 4 adults 1 year old twins, 2 and 7 year old. Thus year twins have nanny for mornings same lady as year and the now 3 and 8 year old will both have lessons. The 3 year old will have short special lesson and then be collected from slope by nanny and stay with twins until lunch. Resort excellent soft play, sledging etc so we spend mornings skiing and afternoons doing kids things. Fully chater chalet is perfect as no worrying about cooking / shopping and then sit with a wine in front of fire once kids are asleep. Highly recommend it.
  5. Hi I would agree with the above unfortunately waiting lists in the area are extremely long. Things are a bit tricker for me as I have twins but to give you an example I have been on a few wait lists now for 2 years (as I put there names down when they were 4 months) with still no spaces come up. Obviously the wait time for one space should be shorterbut the lists are extensive. I ended up fining a nursery which was just opening and got spaces that way but then you do run the risk of having no feedback to base your choice on. Whilst you wait for spot you could consider a childminder as those spaces come up on a regular basis and I have seen some advertised on the forum before. Hope you find something soon Jules
  6. I use Likeminders and have done for the past 18months. All the sitters we have had have been very nice and we have been able to change our allocated sitter with no problems if we didnt feel they would match our childrens needs / personalities. So would def recommend them.
  7. I take my 15 month old and her twin every 8 weeks to see specialist at st Thomas from Peckham rye park bus 12 def by far easiest and stops on Westminster bridge using bus lanes only takes about 30 mins. Hope appointment goes well .
  8. Hmmm this is interesting. I have recently viewed the nursery and am considering signing my 15 month old girls to move from our current nursery which is simply too small to meet active children's needs and thought the space here looked ideal. Has anyone else got feedback? They seem to have a lot of names on the last for end of this year.
  9. A friend in ED has an au pair who I think they pay ?100-?150 a week expenses in addition to providing her accomodation / food / bills etc. Seems to work very well for them and something we will definately consider once we have converted our loft as we also have twins and find juggling nursery with work and family life and the cripplingly high cost of daycares and nannies in the area a struggle. it is a good option if you have the room to accomodate an au pair wihtout living on top of each other.
  10. Hi We have 15 month old twins girls and are looking to take them on holiday in the summer. I am lookng for some suggestions of the best places to visit. Ideally no more than a 3-4 hour flight from London with good beaches. I am not keen on putting them in a creche or activity club but might be useful to have a babysitting option for 1 night. What do people find works best with small children hotel vs self catering. Any suggestions appreciated. Jules
  11. The waiting list at my favourtie nursery is enormous - I loved it but the girls have been on the list for a year now and we have be told it could be september before any avaliability comes up!
  12. Hi all I am looking for some advise ... My twin girls are 15 months old and we are looking for daycare in the Peckham rye east dulwich area. We are really struggling to find anything as the waiting lists are monstrous for 1 but for 2 it's painful. Some lists we have been on for over a year. Does anyone know of a nursery with poss availability or newly opening? Thanks in advance
