  1. Please PM me if you're available tomorrow morning to help me move a chest of drawers a mile and a half locally - happy to give further details and have some flexibility on the exact timing. Thank you!
  2. Interesting perspective here suggesting most 'Kippers should be voting Green: http://anotherangryvoice.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/73-ukip-voters-green-party.html
  3. I would see ?10/hour net as a starting rate (obviously other factors may come into it - experience, qualifications etc. but it is still really the basic going rate I believe) - but equally if you have a great nanny you're going to want to give pay rises! It's also an incentive for nannies to carry on in the same job - really good nannies tend to stay on for years and years. I do know some who have been with the same family for over 7 years. Bonuses are another way of dealing with the concern about increasing costs of living, but obviously that might not feel as reliable as an annual pay rise. HTH
  4. I'm with Grumpy Hamster on this - what kind of crazy theology is that? As it (almost) says in the Bible: The rain, it raineth on the just, and also on the unjust fella. But mainly on the just - because the unjust steals the just's umbrella... Have to say - if anyone had tried to tell me that sort of thing about God I probably wouldn't believe it either!
  5. So, they are all at it. How depressing. Anyone up for a boycott of all these corporate 'tax avoiders'?
  6. I'm sure I'm just dreaming, but I would love to see safe bike routes for children, especially to get to school - either to ride themselves, or be transported in a Dutch-style 'bakfiets'. Even more ideal would be if this could be on car-free paths with minimal pollution. At the moment the car is king, but in a few years, with a bit of will from the council and community, it could be achieved and we could all benefit from a cleaner London.
  7. On the EDF, 'working class' is defined as having lived in ED when it was shit, and not liking grotesque caricatures of people from Clapham. You forgot 'and defending the community against Tory cuts!' *Are these like 'Tory boom and bust'?
