    Duck Egg

messageRe: Duck egg Posted by Angharad_L Today, 10:25AM What is going on with Duck Egg lately?? I've been going since it opened and eaten there loads and loads of times. The service has always been questionable - but the last time I went in there I had to wait ages, got a luke warm breakfast (bubble and squeak) which was the first time I hadn't enjoyed what I'd been served, pretty disappointed. Not to be put off I went back today and as I was by myself, asked for a table for one. Ignoring all the nicely placed empty tables, they suggested I sit on a table shoved in the corner facing away from the rest of the customers, looking at their fridge!!! I asked to sit at one of the multiple empty tables (some for two which I find an acceptable request). And was told that they were 'saving' all these tables for customers of more than one as they had queues out the door last week. It was half empty!! I walked out -- after being a loyal customer for years I'm pretty shocked!!! Eating alone is something I enjoy but it's also quite an effort for some people. You shouldn't be shoved in a corner just because you are a party of one.
  2. Popped into Tierra Verde to sample a double espresso and it was perfection. Can't wait to try their food next. Needs more tables in there!
  3. So ANNOYING. Took me an hour and a half to get to work today. 8.40 train stops in South Bermondsey, the 8.41 from Peckham was cancelled and the Northern line was shut! Argh
  4. Strae you are not understanding the point of chains vs. indies. The chains can afford to offer cheaper products because of the economies of scale. Indies have to charge more as they are producing less. People may vote with their feet, but there's a lot more to it than that.
  5. When I queued for Franco Manca in Clapham, they gave us little snacks of pizza to keep us going. And yes, it was worth the wait. Can't wait for this to arrive in Dulwich! We're British - bring on the queues!
  6. I've def seen a woodpecker while walking up to the train platform, I heard it first and then spotted it in the trees! x
  7. East Dulwich park just down the road where you can run around in the sunshine!
  8. I've almost been run down on East Dulwich Grove. What is wrong with people! If it's a zebra crossing with someone waiting, they should STOP, not speed up!
