  3. Hello! If anyone would like to share an allotment or would just like help please PM me and let me know. I am really keen and more than willing to put in some decent time and support but don't want the responsibility of a whole plot to myself at the moment. I live in ED but have a car and a bike. Jenny
  4. Hi I have an au pair starting this weekend. She is from France. We are based in East Dulwich. Are there any other families or au pairs out there who would like to get in touch? She doesn't know anyone in London and I thought it would be nice for her to meet other local au pairs. the agency I used gave us a list of other au pairs but to be honest not many of them are that local. Hope to hear from you! Jenny
  5. Hi Does anyone know of any evening activities after 6.30pm for kids in and around East Dulwich? J
  6. Does anyone know how to restore wooden dining chairs with cushion seat pads? I just need the basics. I can probably get from tube but if anyone has any tips or knowledge to impart then let me know. If anyone is really into this and wants to chat to me I would be very pleased - I am not wanting someone to do it for me. Jenny
  7. Hi I just wrote to the manager at Ivydale Childrens Center (Miles Smith) asking why this is given some of the reasons you have quoted. I imagine a lot of people are in a similar position. I am not working at my son doesn't sleep at lunchtime but it still seems like a strange decision given the number of parents and children that usually attend and the suitability of the location in that it's pretty accessible for quite a lot of different areas. The response I got is that there's some large joint initiatives "Forest School" and parenting sessions being set up which could only work on a Friday meaning this has to be changed. I'm not sure if it's a resource or venue issue. Maybe these new sessions have been decided to be more of a priority? I will let you know if I hear back. It's a real shame as the venue is so accessible for a lot of people and it's hard to find places where our kids can play inside and out in such a safe and stimulating environment. I know things have got to change from time to time but it feels as if it's only just re-opened... If enough people are concerned about this then it's got to be worth a try getting those in charge of the decision to reconsider. Jenny
