  1. Sorry Cedges but it isn't really user error when the link to online appts isn't on the appointments page. If you've been with the practice for a while then you don't usually read all the home page you just look for the heading appropriate for your needs, in my case it was appointments. No I don't want them spending excessive money on peripheral things but skimping on major items also isn't good. It doesn't take much to have the information on the right page. Anyway by 10am all on-line appts had been taken.
  2. Hi James, I just tried to see if I could book online but found it rubbish because when you click on appointments it says: -------------------- Appointmentssteth_pills_diary We operate an appointments based system. Patients can book on the day or in advance to suit their needs. From January 2014 we will be operating a Clinical Triage system in advance of offering patients an appointment to ensure you get to see the right clinician and also, where possible, reducing the need to have a face to face consultation. You can make an appointment by calling us on 020 8693 2727 We suggest that you phone at any time after 8.00am. If you cannot get through immediately please try later in the morning when phones are less busy. With our new systems in place we do hope to be able to give you appointments on the same day without the need of coming in and queuing at the door. We offer appointment times in early morning from 8.00am and evening until 7.00pm. These slots are primarily for commuters. Pharmacists and Nurses You may find that an appointment with one of our Practice Nurses, Prescribing Pharmacists or Health Care Assistants may help you get to the care you need faster. Keeping your appointment Please be sure to arrive at least 5 minutes before your appointment time to avoid disappointment. Also, please be aware that, depending on the cases being dealt with, our clinicians may run late. We ask that you bear with us. If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. To cancel your appointment dial 0208 693 2727 and then press 1. We lose up to 50 appointments per week from patients failing to attend. ------------------- No where there does it mention booking online so unless someone knows that you can book online you would wait to call at 8am or walk there and queue. Really not fit for purpose and I use websites for everything. I also agree with the posters above, this is a big business that needs a proper web designer to assess and improve their website. Cutting corners by having a mickey mouse website is not good enough and does not show proper cosideration & care for their patients.
  3. Very rarely is there an organised gift from the class so I usually give a bottle of Prosecco (figure they need it by the time the year is finished!) & a card. I got a great card from this years Artist Open House (from 45rpm@notonthenet ). The cards are real vinyl singles made into cards and you pick an appropriate song. I got Tina Turner "Simply The Best" : )
  4. Like some have said it does depend on you, your children & your circumstances. We decided to stay but have friends who left. Most chose between the Harpenden area or Tunbridge/Tonbridge areas. Some are happy, others regret the move. One thing some hadn't realised was that the Kent grammer schools only take 20% of the children going into secondary school. That's a LOT who don't get into the grammer schools and the comprehensives are not great. You also have to factor in a LOT of chauffering your children everywhere. There seems to be a lot of alcohol & drug taking but I think that is more a factor of children with access to money more then location. There is no easy or clear cut answer so everyone has to weigh up the factors that are important to them, it is just important to go in with your eyes open.
  5. We've used Steve for various appliances (freezer, oven, washing machines) over the past 4 years and he's always been efficient, effective & friendly. When our freezer went on the blink (my fault for not closing the door properly!) on Friday evening I texted him and he replied back right away with how to fix it. Now, 3 days later it is back in service better then ever. Thank you Steve, you are a star!!!!!
  6. Hi, I know it is just outside the area you specified but you might be interested in talking to the Bellenden Residents Association. Its been going for years and is well established. Their website is http://www.bellenden.net/brg
  7. Hi, apologies if you are not part of a chain as I thought. I have no problem with your employees using bikes that carry your advertising. In fact I think its great when employees are encouraged to use bikes where possible. However I think locking up a bike for a few hours while working somewhere is one thing, another very different proposition is to lock a bike long term (over a month) without moving it - this is advertising and not using the bike locks as they are meant to be. I don't hate, I didn't threaten nor did I vandalise anything or any one, however I was annoyed. Now that you have removed the bikes that were left as adverts I am fine as the bike lock ups are able to be used by the general public. Thank you.
  8. Sorry but they shouldn't be allowed to take up parking spaces for bikes. There are plenty of other ways of advertising. I'm happy to report them to the council and to complain to the company directly. What is the best email to use to complain to the council?
  9. I'd say don't use Jane Jefferson cleaning. Why? Because they (part of a chain)have illegal ads attached to bicycles which are padlocked to local bike parking areas. This illegal & inconsiderate advertising is taking away bike parking areas needed by people shopping and visiting in the area. Prime example is outside the parade of shops by the Blackbird bakery. Complaints have been made to the council who will hopefully fine them and remove the bikes.
  10. Went and saw Phoenix in screen 3 on Sunday and loved it. Great comfortable seats, nice sized cinema. Nice touch having the free water on tables outside the screens for people to help themselves to and bring in with them. I agree staff training & experience still needs to improve but it is early days and staff were all friendly! The tills & serving times should improve soon. Am glad to have a cinema in walking distance as used the Ritzy before.
  11. lol I don't have the items needed for options 1) 2) so will write to Southwark! it is annoying when useful bike locking spaces are taken up by illegal advertising
  12. Hi, what about the latest trend in locking a bike with an advertisement board on it to a "bike locking station" (sorry mind blank for correct term)? There are a few bike parking places (look on parade on Grove Vale by Blackbird Bakery) being taken by bike locked long term advertising different businesses but that means I can't lock my bike there sometimes as other places are full. Can those be removed?
  13. lol JohnL, that works on the way home but not such a good idea on the way into work! hummm..... on the other hand...
  14. I second all of rahrahrah's proposed improvements!
  15. Travelling by bus into center of town seems worse then normal. Camberwell New Road has works around the Oval causing a nighmare and major delays. Walworth Road has temporary lights near Albany Road so also has huge delays. Does anyone know how much longer this will last? And does work then start on E&C so that those buses will be delayed for the next 18 months? Denmark Hill is packed in the mornings and Overground doesn't work for where I need to go. Have attached a photo taken yesterday morning of the buses backed up on Walworth Road, just after Camberwell Green headed towards Elephant & Castle. There are 15 buses in a row with another 4 behind that I couldn't fit into the photo!!!!
  16. The Southwark Day Centre for Asylum seekers in the Copleston Centre, Copleston Road SE15 has a very good programme for asylum sekers so they could probably take them or point you in the right direction for someone locally. Their number is 020 7732 0505
  17. Think there is a planned bus strike on Fri 13th and Mon 16th so that should add nicely to the chaos!!!!
  18. thanks for that, was thinking for walking it once a week so will try that! : )
  19. Hi I agree with nxjen, I go to LL once a week for a coffee and then pop into 2-4 shops. 20-30 mins isn't enough to do more than 1 thing and the beauty of LL is that there are so many different types of ashopping that you want to go into a number of shops! So increasing restricted shopping to 1 hour is helpful but changing unrestricted parking to restricted is not helpful as 1 hour is not enough time for a coffee and 3-4 shops. Yes I could walk but then the walk back with heavy (if 1 stop was supermarket or fruit & veg or book shop or great find at charity shop) bags is not great. So while I usually walk if only going to one place I do drive for my weekly shop. Please dont put in restricted parking in unrestricted areas! Worse case scenario is to do what they do around Herne Hill & Kings and only have restrictions from 12- 14:00 so that stops commuters parking all day but allows locals to visit.
  20. Hi sorry for late response forgot to click on "send replies" button. Help-Ma-Boab: I walked down past Kings hospital, left on to Camberwell New Road and then strainght, past Oval, Vauxhall, across Vauxhall Bridge. I double-checked timings on the Map My Run app on my phone and saw that I started it from Denmark Hill station so add more time for Peckham Rye. Still worth it! Jeremy: see above Jessie: see above and I walked fast, an average pace of 7.1 kph Someone I know lives on Ondine and works in Pimlico and walks there and back every day. She says it takes her 45 mins each way. Her points were that it was much more pleasant then overcrowded public transportation; it is healthy exercise; it is free; and you know exactly how long it will take unlike breaking down buses/trains/cars/burst pipes etc. Must say that after trying it I was pleasantly surprised and would do it again except when it is raining!
  21. Walked to Victoria, quite good, took 40 mins. Def worth doing if transport is stuffed. LOVE walking across the bridges in London, I never get tired of the views! : )
  22. Hi James, wondered if you had an update as I hadn't realised that Sainsburys were responsible for locking/unlocking St Francis park. It is still locked around 10-11am Sunday mornings which is really frustrating as I can't walk thru there on a regular basis. Thanks
  23. The French House & The Crooked Well are both very dog friendly.
  24. Thanks for the posting, have filled in the form supporting the Camberwell - Peckham extion. Said that there is already terrible congestion on both the Walworth & Camberwell New Roads so buses are a mess during rush hour and the the trains and Overground are also over-crowded. Just looking at how the Overground Line has immediately become so packed shows the huge need for better transportation links. Have also said that do not support extending past Lewisham as if it goes into Bromley/Hayes the carriages just get packed with commuters leaving zone 2 residents stuck with existing overcrowded carriages. Also said that TFL can not be only guided by prospects of developers funding future works as this skews things badly, leaving developed areas even more neglected. In further suggestions said that extending Victoria Line from Brixton to Herne Hill/Camberwell/or Denmark Hill would be good.
