  1. Hi,

We have 2 kids (boy aged 7, girl aged 9) who are increasingly football mad. They've both been told at school that they are showing real potential and they should go to a local club.

I'm a bit stuck as to what to do to be honest. I've heard athenlay is good but the information online is quite limited. Same for Dulwich hamlet (is this the same as village etc) and Peckham town.

Any help, contacts or insights would be welcomed, keen to embrace their passion whilst it's there!

    Many thanks!

  2. Hi. We are on Adys and have the same issues. O2 and Vodafone. Terrible.

Can anyone else confirm that EE is unaffected? Ie. I should switch.

This whole situation is crazy - I was on Vodafone but switched to O2 due to signal problems. Then when I had the same problems on O2, just assumed the problem was something in the house?? This now makes a lot more sense.

  3. Just curious as to what people are thinking / doing re summer holidays.

Now Europe is opening up again, flights running, airports open, even France quarantine is optional, but UK still advises against non-essential travel and as such any travel insurance would be invalidated.

    What's it like at airports?

Do you need to justify essential travel?

We've just taken the decision to cancel our hols in France despite everything easing on the continent, solely due to UK government guidance. We are relaxed about COVID-19 but less so about what happens if whilst abroad it all kicks off again. Or how locals in France may react as we are loading the supermarket trolleys full of cheap beer and wine.

Keen to hear anyone's thoughts as we have flip flopped back and forth with how we feel about everything.

  4. We recently had a kitchen extension done by Plus Rooms and wanted to add a recommendation. We went with them on a friend's recommendation and we're very glad we did. The whole planning and build process went very smoothly and we are really pleased with the result. The build team were very considerate and tidy which helped living through the build with small children! Would definitely recommend speaking to them if you are considering a similar project.
  5. Another recommendation for Nick, all the details above are correct. Nick visited us to arrange for the wills to be prepared. We were aware that you can do this for free online, however with something as important as a will we wanted to ensure this was all done properly. Very pleased with efficiency and effectiveness of the whole process.
  6. Hi,

We have just had our loft extension completed by Classic Lofts and the whole process was fantastic. The works were finished ahead of schedule (a blessing) and everyone we dealt with was polite / friendly / knowledgeable.

We were nervous about the whole process given we have kids, mainly the disruption, noise, mess etc. - Classic managed all of our expectations from start to finish and just took any stress out of the whole situation.

The end product however is what really matters and we are delighted with the outcome. The finish is exactly what we wanted, any snagging (there is always some!) swiftly dealt with. There was always someone available to discuss progress with and timetabling (which for us was one of the most important things from past woes!).

We are now contemplating more works downstairs which Classic have said they will quote for and they will certainly be the first company we contact when we are ready.

Whilst I cannot comment on any other Loft Conversion Companies, I can say we would happily recommend Classic and invite anyone who wants to see their work to get in touch and you are welcome over for a cup of tea to admire their work!

    Good luck!

  7. Perhaps instead of seeing the beer as an issue the real issue lies with the children. Introducing a ban on drinking beer whilst looking after kids seems OTT, perhaps instead discouraging the culprits in bringing their children to the site would mean they could enjoy their beer more and pose less of a safety hazard. As an aside I hope it was Pale Ale and not Tenants Export.
  8. Hi if you are looking for a new front door then look up Alex at Crown Joinery on Tyrell Road. Alex and team designed, built and fitted our new door and we are absolutely delighted with the results. It is far better than we could have expected and already puts our neighbours to shame! the cost was more than competitive (especially when compared to big door companies) but what stood out was the personal service and Craftsmanship that went into it. Details are: Alex, 07972 022354, [email protected]

    Thanks. James

  9. Hi I can second this. We obtained numerous quotes and Phil's was very competitive and the most complete in terms of what we were looking for. Phil replastered and decorated, laid new flooring, built in cabinets and wardrobes in the bedroom and we are delighted with the work. His number is 07701 097779 - happy to provides pictures of his work if you'd like.

    Thanks

    James
