  1. Anyone know what's happened. Was all closed off around Brightlands this morning.
  2. Hi. I saw this cat on Fenwick road today. Distinctive blue collar with bell. Long shot. I'm on 07854170413 and live locally and can nip out if you think it may be Rupert. Good luck
  3. Hi, We have 2 kids (boy aged 7, girl aged 9) who are increasingly football mad. They've both been told at school that they are showing real potential and they should go to a local club. I'm a bit stuck as to what to do to be honest. I've heard athenlay is good but the information online is quite limited. Same for Dulwich hamlet (is this the same as village etc) and Peckham town. Any help, contacts or insights would be welcomed, keen to embrace their passion whilst it's there! Many thanks! JP
  4. I moved to EE and it's literally been life changing! It works, 5G and phone signal. I'm on Adys road.
  5. We are on Adys road. Just switched to EE and hallelujah! Signal and 4G/5G! The SIM only deal is a more expensive but straight away it's worth it. *Sky mobile (who use O2 network) confirmed the mast was taken down. O2 told them it was due to be replaced by end of August 2021. Seemed too convenient to be true so I switched.
  6. Hi. We are on Adys and have the same issues. O2 and Vodafone. Terrible. Can anyone else confirm that EE is unaffected? Ie. I should switch. This whole situation is crazy - I was on Vodafone but switched to O2 due to signal problems. Then when I had the same problems on O2, just assumed the problem was something in the house?? This now makes a lot more sense.
  7. Hi, does anyone know if or when the carwash behind Sainsbury's will reopen? I'd have thought if they were going to they would have done so already?
  8. Just curious as to what people are thinking / doing re summer holidays. Now Europe is opening up again, flights running, airports open, even France quarantine is optional, but UK still advises against non-essential travel and as such any travel insurance would be invalidated. What's it like at airports? Do you need to justify essential travel? We've just taken the decision to cancel our hols in France despite everything easing on the continent, solely due to UK government guidance. We are relaxed about COVID-19 but less so about what happens if whilst abroad it all kicks off again. Or how locals in France may react as we are loading the supermarket trolleys full of cheap beer and wine. Keen to hear anyone's thoughts as we have flip flopped back and forth with how we feel about everything.
  9. Hi, I've heard conflicting reports of the recycling centre either being open or closed. I know it has been closed but does anyone know if it has reopened?
  10. There is another thread on here somewhere It used to wake me up most nights in the summer at 3am then I changed to double glazing. The below is a summary, you're not going mad! https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2019/mar/13/what-is-the-mysterious-gl-hum-and-is-it-simply-noise-pollution
  11. The bin at the oglander end of adys road constantly has rubbish strewn all around it. Someone leaves their trash in bags outside of the public bin leaving the foxes to have a field day pretty much every night. USE YOUR GREEN BINS (AND IF NOT USE SOMEONE ELSES - ITS BETTER THAN HAVING THE EYESORE EVERY DAY!!)
  12. We recently had a kitchen extension done by Plus Rooms and wanted to add a recommendation. We went with them on a friend's recommendation and we're very glad we did. The whole planning and build process went very smoothly and we are really pleased with the result. The build team were very considerate and tidy which helped living through the build with small children! Would definitely recommend speaking to them if you are considering a similar project.
  13. Shout out for Castro who we have used a few times now to repair our faulty boiler. We had an urgent leak to fix and we couldn't get any other plumber who was either qualified to do the work or available. Efficient, fair and good guy highly recommended. Contact Castro on 07881 974367.
  14. Another recommendation for Nick, all the details above are correct. Nick visited us to arrange for the wills to be prepared. We were aware that you can do this for free online, however with something as important as a will we wanted to ensure this was all done properly. Very pleased with efficiency and effectiveness of the whole process.
  15. Hi, We have just had our loft extension completed by Classic Lofts and the whole process was fantastic. The works were finished ahead of schedule (a blessing) and everyone we dealt with was polite / friendly / knowledgeable. We were nervous about the whole process given we have kids, mainly the disruption, noise, mess etc. - Classic managed all of our expectations from start to finish and just took any stress out of the whole situation. The end product however is what really matters and we are delighted with the outcome. The finish is exactly what we wanted, any snagging (there is always some!) swiftly dealt with. There was always someone available to discuss progress with and timetabling (which for us was one of the most important things from past woes!). We are now contemplating more works downstairs which Classic have said they will quote for and they will certainly be the first company we contact when we are ready. Whilst I cannot comment on any other Loft Conversion Companies, I can say we would happily recommend Classic and invite anyone who wants to see their work to get in touch and you are welcome over for a cup of tea to admire their work! Good luck!
  16. Hi did you find someone who can do this. I have a similar problem. Thanks!
  17. Happy Hour at Goose Green playground. 3-5pm every Saturday. Children welcome.
  18. Perhaps instead of seeing the beer as an issue the real issue lies with the children. Introducing a ban on drinking beer whilst looking after kids seems OTT, perhaps instead discouraging the culprits in bringing their children to the site would mean they could enjoy their beer more and pose less of a safety hazard. As an aside I hope it was Pale Ale and not Tenants Export.
  19. Hi if you are looking for a new front door then look up Alex at Crown Joinery on Tyrell Road. Alex and team designed, built and fitted our new door and we are absolutely delighted with the results. It is far better than we could have expected and already puts our neighbours to shame! the cost was more than competitive (especially when compared to big door companies) but what stood out was the personal service and Craftsmanship that went into it. Details are: Alex, 07972 022354, [email protected] Thanks. James
  20. We would highly recommend carl. Carl did extensive internal and external decoration work for us and we have been delighted with the work. One of the biggest factors for us is communication due to our working demands and carl was spot on. Contact me directly if you want to see his work! Thanks.
  21. Hi I can second this. We obtained numerous quotes and Phil's was very competitive and the most complete in terms of what we were looking for. Phil replastered and decorated, laid new flooring, built in cabinets and wardrobes in the bedroom and we are delighted with the work. His number is 07701 097779 - happy to provides pictures of his work if you'd like. Thanks James
  22. Niko is great and highly recommended. He is efficient and very helpful. Thanks again! James
  23. Another recommendation for Niko. Fast efficient and friendly service as always. Top banana! James
