  1. Rye Lane Butchers mainly sell Halal meat don't they? I avoid it as I don't think the method of slaughter is humane or ethical.

We're not just all economic units you know, days like Monday bring communities together with everyone out having fun. Our lords and masters may not be amused at us having the audacity to take the day off but who cares?! It's one day ffs!
  4. I'd be all for parking permits IF residents didn't have to pay for them. The upkeep of permit schemes should be funded by the charges levied to non resident drivers, but that clearly won't happen and residents will be fleeced as well. So because of that I'd have to vote no.
  5. The 8.05/8.15 services have been shocking this week. Southern Trains are a complete shambles and clearly couldn't organise a p*ss up in the proverbial. I've sent them several scathing missives but nothing will come of passenger complaints, they don't give a toss. They have their goldmine of revenue with no competition so why should they bother to invest in the service? Let's face facts if they were in a proper free market they would have gone bust a long time ago through lack of customers! Let's all hope and pray they lose their franchise next Sept, in fact I am going to contact Passenger Focus to ask how I can submit a protest against their retention of the franchise.
  6. What a really depressing post that is, letting the rail companies reduce the service by a third without so much as a whimper. How anyone can stand up for the travesty that is Southern Rail I have no idea. Putting on ONE extra train a day does not make up for this reduction in service nor their continuing lack of respect for their paying customers. 7. What extra trains are they running in the evening? Strawbs Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I filled it in and it worked fine.. 8. I've written a very scathing letter to Southern Trains about this but I have no doubt at all that NOTHING will happen as a result of complaints from passengers. Southern Trains couldn't care less about our opinions and continually show that they have nothing but contempt and disregard for their paying customers. Let's just all hope and pray that they lose their franchise when it goes up for renewal this year. I wonder if we'll be offered a discount of 1/3 our monthly travelcard from the 14th December to make up for the cut of a 1/3 of our service? No, thought not. Seriously though, TFL need to get ownership of all suburban routes in London so that adequate services can be run. Until that happens we'll be left with a second rate, delayed, slow, dirty service.
  9. So, this cut in services (from East Croydon) will affect peaktime trains? If so this is outrageous and another example of Southern's utter contempt for its 'customers'
  10. Hi Nutty, Don't know if I qualify as 'half decent' but I was playing weekly until relatively recently and am looking for someone to play against in the E Dulwich area. Let me know if you're keen? Cheers Shaun
