  1. Anyone know Scott Morrison. Just found his wallet in Dulwich.
  2. I don't think it'll matter what the local councils in London do they will by their half baked ideologies more often than not screw it up. Social media types will by their nature throw a hissy fit what ever decisions are made. Instead of speed bumps and purpose built cycle lanes (which cyclists avoid) that actually increase pollution, our money would have been better spent on speed cameras / cctv on every street in the capital with law enforcement to back it all up.
  3. I went to a local ED newsagents to buy a first class stamp and the woman behind the counter tried selling it to me for ?1. It is meant to be 76 pence. She tried justifying the 30% mark up as it's a Cash & Carry. There doesn't seem to be any law against hiking the price of a postage stamp but what she failed to recognise is she'd have made a bigger profit on the father's day card I was about to purchase if she'd sold it at face value like her associates in that same shop have done in the past. I honestly didn't know a local business was willing to fleece it's previously loyal customer.
  4. Only just came across this, I certainly did not receive any comms from the council on voting. I note only 860 people voted so sounds like it was a bit of a closed shop. Dulwich Healthcare Centre would have made a lot of sense to me, but I suppose if they'd put that on the shortlist then people might have voted for that as the new name..
  5. Bit embarrassing for those caught on camera in Daily Mail as I'm sure their silhouettes are recognisable to their friends and family. There is a general lack of common sense but nothing quite beats the two women I saw outside M&S recently who kept minimum of 2 metres apart BUT both lovingly cuddled the same dog (I'm sure there was also some dog tongue involved as well).
  6. I think that these guys are handling hundreds of bins on their route so it's almost certain some will have the virus passed onto it by the house holder and consequently passed down the chain by the bin man. You should avoid touching the surface of the bins and that's why it is better for the bins to be returned to original position. No one is going to leave their bin on pavement for a few days, whereas they are more likely not to fill bins for a few days (allowing enough time for virus to clear which I understand may up to few days). Either way always wash hands immediately after handling bins. 7. I suspect the council will not have enough people signed up and will then not be able to sustain weekly collection of garden waste as I'd imagine the previous budget for this collection has already been reallocated.
  8. Lucky I saw the option of challenging it online to see the clearer photos otherwise I'd be heading towards ?200 fine. So I'm putting this experience down to saving myself ?135!
  9. I've just gone onto the web site to the challenge it, and the photos are clearer and I've made a mistake. It's on the other corner (the one corner you cannot turn left). I recollect now a few weeks ago driving down Peckham Rye and there was a huge log jam, did a u-turn and took an illegal left turn.. in the other photos you can see a van in front of me has led the way with a left turn as well. Ouch! They must have a made a lot of money that day the council :-(
  10. Nah there is enough in the photo for them to work out it's taking a left turn at the junction from East Dulwich Road onto Peckham Rye.
  11. These are the two photos which prove my innocence. One me taking a left turn from the roadside camera, and the second a photo I took yesterday approaching the junction where it is clearly marked you can take a left turn.
  12. Click on the google link - https://goo.gl/maps/h5YTW4QunvxmEKYr9 I took a left at this junction down Peckham Rye.. and that this is the penalty notice i received
  13. No not bus lane. It was penalty from Southwark council for taking left turn. They attached the photo from a roadside camera of me taking left hand turn at that junction.
  14. I have had a penalty notice for taking a left turn off East Dulwich Road onto Peckham Rye.. anyone received one of these for this particular junction? I have taken a left turn at that spot hundreds of times in the past. In the penalty notice it says I did not follow the arrow on a blue sign which I do not recall ever being.. obviously I know you cannot take a right turn onto Peckham Rye but this is news to me not being able to take a left turn.
