  1. 'fraid I'm probably not going to be able to make my second appearance. I have a work thing on this Friday, although can perhaps make a stumbled appearance later on in the evening for those of you that last (mentioning no names!!!).
  2. Some interesting pictures on the building of Adventure (very impressive build, I have to say): http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=16140160839
  3. MadWorld74 - You clearly need an Adventure Mojito to clear your head!
  4. I was born after 1870 too.
  5. *emerging from under the table* Tony.London Suburbs has now injected no end of confusion into this already desperately confused thread. Lounge anyone?
  6. Should that have been "its content"!? ;)
  7. The tihng is, it's easy to udnesrtand setnences no matter waht odrer lettres are in, so why btoher with decnet gramamr?
  8. Your absolutely right James. Its definately annoying that english grammar isnt up to scratch anymore.
  9. Yikes, I wish I kept my mouth shut now! *runs for cover*
  10. I was only offering an explanation as to why not many men may have turned up. It wasn't meant as a criticism of your event! Clearly the men that didn't turn up missed out...
  11. There always seem to be plenty of single people at Liquorish on a normal Friday or Saturday night, so I'm not sure why a specific 'singles night' is required!? As a single man, I'd rather stick to a normal night, since a night specifically for singletons cries out with an air of desperation to me. I suspect other men may share my view? Maybe I have an stereotypical image of the type of women (and indeed men) that frequent these events, but I'd just rather do my thing without the pressure of 'singles night' ringing through my ears. What we need in ED is a decent late night venue. And that doesn't include Kebab and Wine!!! I'm only just winding up by 1am - like a well coiled spring, ready to pounce!
  12. Or simply... (0.8^4)*100% = 40.96% down
  13. Sue, stand trial! ;)
  14. I could tell people to watch out when paying money in the bank also. Genuine errors do happen! I once paid a cheque in for ?600 (in East Dulwich, but I won't name and shame the bank), only to notice when checking my account that only ?300 had be credited. It pays to get a receipt for everything! Fortunately for me, this was the case, although for 'cashback', this may be harder to prove.
  15. It's easy to convert gyms into night clubs....
  16. This actually seems like a strange place for a gym, since it's a little off the beaten track. Most gyms are on main roads, so they don't have to worry too much about advertising, but I suppose word of mouth (forum) is a powerful medium...
  17. I'm sure they will get rented out as fast they drop.
  18. All those road works probably?
  19. Good point. They would have to have had a bat report to get planning permission. Do bats live in trees though? I thought that urban bats normally nest in peoples roofs!
  20. I suppose we will import less China, since due to inflation and weakening of the USD and GBP will make these goods more expensive. We'd probably start looking to source more goods locally. This in itself will have a hit on their economy. It's all son intertwined. It's extremely complex to predict exactly what will happen next. I had a beer with a fund manager last night and he was equally clueless as to what exactly will happen in the coming months.
  21. Bad debt in China? Explain...
  22. I don't wish redundancy on anyone, even with my reputation of general estate agent dislike (it's the practice as a whole, rather than any individual that I have an issue with). However, it's rather inevitable that within the next year there will be a good reduction in the number of agencies down LL.
  23. haha, I'll give it a try next time and see how I get on!
  24. I'm waiting until the majority of people have to re-mortgage when they reach the end of their fixed rate periods. This (particularly in the BTL market) is going to force prices down further, since I would predict that the number of repossessions will carry on increasing. These BTL landlords that got in late, are suddenly going to have to find significant equity in order to keep their LTV's at 75%. It's all going to get a whole lot worse in my opinion, but it'll be interesting to look back in this thread in a year's time!
