  1. I live right opposite the Harvester and definitely have to agree that it is a nightmare to cross there. I'm sure there is a valid reason why there are no pedestrian lights there, but I can't imagine what it is. Everyday when I get off the bus I have to risk my life by legging it across 4 lanes of traffic! Another one which really should have pedestrian lights is where Honor Oak Road meets London Road in Forest Hill, nightmare!
  2. It was really bad yesterday morning, did anyone notice that? Stopped me getting a lie in!

MadWorld, perhaps we should face it that some people like animals and care etc etc, others don't. As Tony says, I'm proud to know which group I fall amongst.
  5. I'm sorry to hear what happened to you MadWorld - I am in tears now just at the other end of the computer!
  6. I knew it, it is *that* supermarket! Whatever anyone else says, I'm not using my card in there anymore...
  7. Come on you have to tell us, which supermarket??????

  10. I definitely think it is the retailers etc that are liable. The banks and building societies have done their bit, and it seems, for the most part, that they are doing a good job of spotting and preventing this fraud. The retailers need to up their security to stop this sort of thing happening in their stores. I'd be pretty embarrassed if it was me!
  11. I think the point was that Natasha was deliberately trying to antagonise Shu by bringing up, once again, the sushi incident in this, a completely unrelated thread.
  12. Hmmmmmm, I'm not sure that saying 'it's okay, you'll get your money back' is enough of an explanation.
  13. I agree with Izodia - we all complain about this but I'm sure we are all happy to take advantage of cheap, frequent and flexible flights. The noise does seem to have increased recently, but I'll just stick a pillow over my head and block out the noise.

I think that in the 4 months I have lived in ED I have prob been a maximum of 3 times. Also spoke to my housemate about this last night who says that there is a Somerfield opposite his work, in Croydon, and lots of people at his work have suffered fraud at the hands of Somerfield too. It could be a coincidence I suppose, but I think this is unlikely.
  15. Reading through everyone elses posts and due to my own experience we seem to have a common denominator - Somerfields Lordship Lane!!!! I very rarely use my cc and have never experienced fraud before, however after using it on 5th August in Somerfield I got a call on the 7th to say that someone had tried - unsuccessfuly - to withdraw ?250 from a hole in the wall using my cc. I guess the reason that they picked this up is that I never ever withdraw money using my CC. Funnily enough, and unlike everyone else experiences, this was attempted at a Nationwide cash machine, so in the UK I guess?? The annoying thing is that they made me cut up my credit card, however I had no money in the bank, hence why I was suing the cc. They assured me they would transfer some on Friday, which they didnt, and now I have gone overdrawn and may face charges :-( I think we all need to spread the word about avoiding possible fraud hot spots!
  16. My heart just jumped into my mouth when I though JR was spreading rumours of me as an ED troublemaker!!
