  1. Can anyone recommend someone local to install a cat flap? Many thanks
  2. It was slow and torturous progress at times but I Finally managed to lure holly home with food. She must have been hungry! We?re thrilled to have her back but not sure how happy she is about the new arrangement - she hid under the sofa straight away. Thanks all for the support no

An extra pair of hands would certainly help. My wife can't help me look int he evening because she has to stay in with the children. I might take you up on the offer if I can't entice her in this week.
  4. I saw her again last night in a neighbour's garden - she was mewing loudly from the bushes - but she wouldn't come close enough to take a treat let alone allow me to try to coax her home. I think I'm going to have to try a trap, or call Battersea for advice.

It might be a good idea > considering she is scared. it's a good idea. i have thought about it, my main concern is catching someone else's poor cat, or worse a fox! i am going to try bringing a towel out with me later to wrap her up in, if i'm lucky enough to find her again, so at least i won't feel her scratches
  6. yes, cat posters up, vets, shelters and chip company informed. i think i saw her on our road last night. i tracked her for an hour or so in the dark, offering her treats until she came to me and let me pet her. then i tried to pick her up and carry her home so i could check in the light that it was definitely holly but it did not go down well. she scratched me so i let her go and she bolted again. so i have a problem: even if i find her, getting her to come back to my house, which she still doesn't identify as home, or to come to me, who she still doesn't fully trust, will be tough. we have been leaving cat treats and our holly's litter tray outside our home. both of which are being used, though not necessarily both by our cat!
  7. Yes, I have done that. I left her blanket, carry case and toys, which have her scent on them, and her food bowl to try and tempt her. The food we left out was eaten by some animal, or other. I had a call from someone who saw her up by Belvoir Road, quite a walk from our end of Friern, so I drove up there and talked to some people who live around there but couldn't find her. It's like looking for a needle in haystack. She is chipped so I guess I'm relying on someone finding her and taking her to the vet too - she doesn't have a collar so I presume people might think she is a stray.
  8. Hello, I have lost my cat - please help! She escaped out the front door this morning as I was taking my boy to school. Her name is Holly, she is a one year old tabby and white cat, she doesn't have a collar yet as we only just got her, and I didn't mean for her to get out of the house just yet. We have only had her for a week and I'm worried she won't return as she was still settling in. She is a quite nervous and shy cat and until this point hasn't left the house, so I'm nervous she won't come back because she isn't yet familiar with the surrounding area. Please get in touch if you see her. I live on Friern Road, the Peckham Rye end, and my number is 07966464379. I have two children who are devastated and desperate to get their new feline friend home. Please get in touch if you see her. Many thanks, Dan
  9. I'm bitterly disappointed to hear about this. The pizza for me, is better than Franco Manca, which I find a bit too sloppy and undercooked. The bases at Sorsi and Morsi we're thin and crispy - just how traditional Italian pizza should be. I think it's as much a problem with the restaurant site itself, which is dominated by an overly large bar and feels more like a canteen than somewhere inviting you want to sit for any length of time. A big shame, I ate there or collected from them most weekends last summer but it was rarely full, I figured it would be curtains for them when Franco Manca came to town. As far as Franco Manca is concerned it's a meh from me so far. I've been twice to this particular branch of the chain. First time queued 25 minutes then had people lining up over my table, while they waited, not exactly the ideal setting for a meal. Then the pizza took ages and was thoroughly underdone. Not a patch on what I've had in Brixton. Perhaps they'll improve over time but the last time I went with my 8 month pregnant wife we walked after being told it was over a 20 minute wait and there being nowhere for her to sit while we wait. The guys ahead of us who were clearly irritated at how long they had been waiting weren't in the mood to let us go before them. I personally can't be arsed to queue up to 30 minutes for below par pizza with no bar area to sit and have drink while waiting. RIP Sorsi and Morsi
  10. I'm keen to do a Star Wars party for my four year old. Anyone suggest any entertainers capable in the se22 area?
  11. i ordered from them on Saturday night at about 7.15. Took about 15 minutes of redialing to get through but they delivered in under 45 minutes. Apparently it's practically impossible to get through if you leave it later than 7.30
  12. I love this restaurant. What a great addition to Lordship Lane and its sea of curry houses. I hope Sorsi and Morsi does a lot better than the two restaurants that lived in that venue before it and manages to stay open. I have been doing my bit in that regard in recent weeks - I must have been over half a dozen times in the last couple of months. The pizza is the best around here - proper authentic thin crust Italian pizzas cooked in a wood burning oven, as they should be. Fresh pasta dishes that taste just as good as those I have tried in Italy. Nice touch that they leave out samples during the day too. We usually take a couple of freebies on a Saturday afternoon walk down LL. And just a lovely staff, that are always super friendly to my loud three year old son - it's his favourite place to eat out too. They do take out too. My standard Friday night of late has been pizza at S&M then on to the Gelato place up the road. The only negative really is the interior. Still has the feeling of it's predecessors - dominated by a bar that's way too big and a bit of a canteen feel about it, but I'm nitpicking. It's fast become my favourite local restaurant.
  13. It's bloody awful - possibly the worst GP I have ever encountered. I can only repeat what others have said: impossible to get through to a doctor, appalling staff. A disgrace really.
  14. It would go down a storm, I'm sure. Way too many curry houses dominating Lordship Lane.
  15. going to try this joint tonight. had some of the free tasters yesterday and was quite impressed. the lane has been crying out for a decent pizza/pasta joint for years. hopefully it's finally arrived.
  16. the magdela was a nice boozer about 7-8 years ago when they sold pizzas. it was usually busy and the food was good. i went in once a short while after it was first remodeled. haven't been back since. shame. agree about the cpt's transformation too. they've done a great job there with a pub that was always empty. you can't have too much of a go at johnny come lately types. the fact is that east dulwich has become gentrified. and pubs and restaurants that aren't set up to cater for the local market will struggle.
  17. i've had good and poor dishes at Indian Michief. never been disappointed at Ganpatis
  18. Babur in Honor Oak is the best indian in the area by a country mile. Babur to go is their takeaway service plus they have a fine dining Indian restaurant which is well worth visiting for a night out, less so to order from. Indians on LL are much of a muchness. Tandoori nights probably the best. Ganapati way better than Indian mischief. Chandelier does monmouth coffe, if i remember correctly. best roast - the Palmerston
  19. friern road is one of the nicest and most quiet roads in central east dulwich - way more families than students or young professionals - and much less of a through road than barry road or crystal palace road. i wouldn't let a local church put you off.
  20. my frozen peas and ice cream needs are fulfilled by sainsburys, thanks.
