  1. Think there are several people who dump bread en mass on the Rye and in the park. Have reported to the park ranger's office in the past. They told me they are aware but hard to act on. Many of the feeders have personal issues that compel them to do this. One particular guy drives around several local parks 'feeding' the birds... I have a greedy dog, so far no harm but will check for mycotoxic poisoning.
  2. Louisa, thank you. Will look around Biggin Hill. We have looked online for facilities but just wondered if there was any local knowledge. BTW the width of the caravan we are considering is only 2m - the entire thing is the size of a standard van - and of course we will be getting ok from our neighbours. Thanks for you concern :)
  3. Thanks all, particularly ArtfulDogger. Although I was not planning to leave the caravan outside my house for any length of time it's good to know that legally I can while we are loading/unloading. I will check with Southwark about their take on this. What I was really after was any recommendations for reasonable caravan storage with easy access to ED. Louisa, do you have any tips? Thank you!
  4. We are thinking about buying a caravan but have some worries about the logistics - where we could store it when not using. Any advice gratefully received.
  5. The service has been rubbish for a long time. We tweeted today and got a reply. Pls everyone tweet @virginmedia #se22 #broadband #meltdown and let's put pressure on them to sort it out asap

Actually I asked James Barber about a year ago to get self-closures on all the gates plus sign to remind people to close after using. It was done and worked well for about 6 months. Now the gates don't work so well and people still leave them open. I think the gates get quite a lot of abuse from the people using them.
  7. Yes, second Friddle's cakes. Em baked a cake for my father-in-law's birthday - copy of The Guardian and a mug (all edible!) It made the party! It was also fun commissioning it as well.
  8. Of course there are loads of teenagers in ED and around, I have two of them. They tend not to hang around where you hang around but as someone said earlier, have you been to any of the parks on a summer's evening? They also frequent Starbucks, Nero's and each other's houses. Mine like to take the bus uptown to Oxford Street, Covent Garden and beyond. They have a much wider reach and have friends scattered - Forest Hill, Brockley, Peckham, Herne Hill, Brixton and beyond. On the whole I think they have a great time living here.
  9. It's probable that she goes to Dog Kennel Hill School? Would it be worth reporting it to them?
  10. Agree with Mrs TP that this has been a total failure of safe-guarding. Also I don't think it happened at the end of the school day - it was in the afternoon break. I hope that all local secondary schools will review their safe-guarding methods. Whether it took place during the school day or not, as long as it took place on school premises it is within their juridiction and so their responsibility. 11. Also Brixton Hub https://brixton.impacthub.net/
  12. Not ED but Nandos in Camberwell's always great for a large party of kids

Having been down this route several years ago (not with Caroline) agree that it is v.v. expensive. Unless the money at stake is ????KKKK it's cheaper in the long run to walk away, head held high. That's what I did and do not regret it. :)
