  2. we used the shed at Herne Hill tavern in November last year - they left us to use the space however we wanted and even supplied us with a waiter.
  3. http://www.the-mini-edit.com/ rally fab new online kids retailer
  4. highly rate Sitters. We have used them for both pre-planned and last min situations. Very easy to book and always someone to speak to in the office.
  5. I swear by the bednest - think it's the simplest and best of it's kind out there. Used ours from birth to 6 months and loved it. Fantastic for breastfeeding at night and you get all the benefits of co-sleeping without actually bedsharing all night. you can hire them from NCT or buy new and can also pick up easily second hand online (which is what we did but bought a new mattress/sheets)
  6. we are renting our flat privately through EDF (we had to move from a 1-bed after just 6 months due to pregnancy) and we really were dreading paying ?100's in fees after just half a year - renting privately has benefitted both the landlords and ourselves and without any of the admin fees etc. Still had a contract drawn up and put our deposit into a protection scheme to protect both parties - but the rental was based on meeting the landlords and a mutal liking and trust. I would def post on the propery section and see what happens!
  7. The Yoga Room is based in the Gardens East Dulwich. The teacher Yajna is in India right now but is back next week. Have a look at the website here - www.theyogaroom.org.uk She does Mon and Thurs evenings - great class but it's for all levels so there is a fair bit of relaxation and breathing - but this is all geared towards birth and labour pain relief/breathing techniques.
  8. I think a discount card for local businesses is a great idea instead- Carnaby Street has a Carnaby Card which it offers to local businesses/employees encouraging them to spend local. What's wrong with boosting our high sts when the forum seems to have a shop closing every week or so.
  9. Come on people - surely ?5 an hour is a little low! you are entrusting your children with somone and very likely playing much more than ?5 on a round of drinks. If it was me I wouldn't be letting my daughter babysit for this couple again - they surely should see your daughter as their trusted employee and as such treat her with a bit of respect! Once I got paid for a babysitting job with a cheque. The cheque bounced.
  10. Hi Kim, Just search for the group Autumn Babies Club 2013, click to join and then Hannah who set up the group will accept the invite. Congrats on your arrival! There's always some sort of meet up being planned - cakes, walks etc. Priya
  11. Highly recommend The Gardens - receptionist is always chatty and friendly (which is a rarity) and Dr Tran is very easy to talk to.
  12. Brixton has a topshop and other high street stores - the 37 takes you there from East Dulwich Road.
