  1. Got some great tips for places to go on here, last time I went away so thought I'd try again. We've got 4 nights in Las Vegas for husbands' 40th in March- I've done a little research into restaurants etc but feeling a bit swamped with choice. Looking for a couple of really good recommendations (good quality sit down places rather than novelty places). Anyone who's been recently and has recommendations very much appreciated. Many thanks
  2. Hi all, Looking for some help- need a local builder to do some local jobs on a commercial premises. Not a massive job but needs to be done urgently to open up the premises. I contacted Matthew Hanson who was very well recommended on here but he is full for the next couple of months. If anyone else could send on some recommendations that would be great. Many thanks, Jessica
  3. Anyone get (or know) Dulwich wood primary? I put it as choice number 6 as it was the nearest to our house. Didn't think they'd travel that far down the list and don't know anything about it!
  4. As above, looking for recommendation to fit a door for a shop. Nothing too expensive as not likely to be long term. Any suggestions very welcome . Many thanks.
  5. Thanks so much for the recommendations- had a great meal at Corte sconta for the birthday night then another at antiche carampane on another. Both highly recommended. Thanks again to all.
  6. Do not understand why people are responding to this thread. Either the person who has started it is a troll or is so pig headed that they are not going to listen to reason whatever is said. Don't feed the troll/wally.
  7. ..looking for some advice/Tips. I'm going next month for a big birthday of mine. Visited for a day trip a few years ago in mid August and whilst I loved the city itself, found it difficult to escape tourist trap restaurants when there for only a day. I'm visiting for a long weekend so any advice re interesting/lovely restaurants out of the main tourist drag would be very appreciated. Or any resources to find out such info. Also any must see sights apart from the very obvious. Thanks in advance
  8. Slightly off topic- but we had plumbers round a couple of weeks ago installing a boiler. They over-ran and were still busy at 6-8pm when kids aged 1 and 3 were returning from childminders/nursery. Flat was pretty uninhabitable. Went to the pub but only as we couldn't think of anywhere else to go at that time? Felt we had to explain ourselves to everyone in there as well. Where do people take young children this time of day/early eve if they need to get out for whatever reason?
  9. Apparently most of the ruxley manor slots had gone by September! Ditto places such as Harrods. We are going to one in Norfolk whilst visiting friends over December and that had limited slots left- in early October. Big business apparently this year these grottos..
  10. What is wrong with people on here? Talk about over reactions!
  11. Hi Laura, Another recommendation for Simone! I've done 1 to 1 PT with her as well as the group PT classes (excellent value). I also go her women's or mummies classes depending on what fits in. She's great at tailoring the workouts to your needs- I started just after a c-section birth so exercises were adapted accordingly. She is also very happy to work around kids which is great for me. As others have mentioned she's really motivating and keeps the workouts varied and fun. Se22newmum- I don't know much about train links ,but the boxing gym is right by east dulwich station. Also 176 bus stops just outside from penge/Sydenham.

  13. It's a deal they do. You get the whole lot for ?20- great value
  14. Would second Dr Doha at lordship lane surgery. Administration wise- sometimes things are left to be desired with the practice. He is excellent though- really listens and takes his time. On the occasions I've seen other doctors in the practice I've also been impressed.
  15. I work in a TB clinic and we still don't have the vaccine despite it being promised this month. Think we are looking at three months realistically. Although it does occur it's pretty uncommon in babies even in relatively high risk areas. Most cases of young babies catching TB are from parents (or other very close family member) who have the pulmonary form of the disease. Please ask if any further particular concerns.
  16. My Husband went in last week and there was a sign saying they were opening last Saturday (5th). Haven't been down there to investigate but find the whole set-up odd
  17. The marlin street apartments near St Paul's are fairly reasonable and nicely kept. Believe you can request single or doubles. They have small kitchens (or kitchenette the word might be). Have used in a large group before and worked well even though the communal space wasn't huge.
  18. We used a guy called Mitch Matthews for our wedding www.djinc.co.uk. He doesn't just do weddings and definitely wasn't your typical wedding DJ. He based in Brighton but travels. Really attentive and called me several times throughout the process to check details. We had so many comments about the music from guests of all ages- don't think the dance floor was less than full all night! Let me know if you need any more info. Jess
  19. Another recommendation for no flies. We in early stages of dealing with them for our sale but lovely guys and very thorough.
  20. I work in the field of TB- it's started being manufactured again so should all be back on track over next 3-4 months. I'd remind the Health visitor/GP that your grandchild will need to be done nearer that time though as there's likely to be a lot of catching up to do. As pickle said though- pretty hard to catch.
  21. Can anyone recommend a good sit down Caribbean restaurant in the area? anywhere reasonable distance in south London. I'm taking a relative out for a special birthday who loves Caribbean food. Somewhere which does cocktails would be a bonus. Thanks, Jess
  22. Hi can highly recommend Simone at 'mind over matter'. Quite a few recommendations for her already on here- both for her classes and one to one personal training if you search above. I've done a mixture of classes and PT and have never felt so healthy! Simone is trained to a high level at boxing and Muay Thai and the classes and sessions do incorporate this alongside loads of other bits. I've also really enjoyed training with Simone on a personal level she pushes you but is also very understanding- I first trained four months after having a caesarean birth and she adapted the exercises accordingly. She also works around kids which is great for me! Please ask if anything specific. Jess X
  23. No that's great. Thank you. I probably meant a musical when I said not too mainstream. Will have a look at those two later. Thanks again.
  24. Apologies if wrong section. I wondered if anyone could recommend something over the next couple of months? Late birthday present from my mum but am very out of touch with the London theatre scene at the moment. Something not too mainstream but not too fringe as my mum has to travel to and from Essex on the eve. Thanks, Jess
