  1. Not quite ED, but the lady on the bus says Roz-en-dale for Rosendale Road. I'd always assumed in was rose as in the flower?

I work near East Croydon station, the trams always look pretty packed to me.

    wave energy

How about tidal energy? Presumably that would be more predictable than wind or solar energy but you never seem to hear it mentioned when people talk about renewables. Is there some massive disadvantage I'm missing, apart from maybe increased costs to set up and maintain?

The point I was making, which someone else made earlier, is that it wasn't up to me to dole out the punishment and in doing so, I got myself into trouble as well. And to answer your question, it made no difference at all whether I retaliated with brother or not - he still nicked my toys!
  7. My mum always told me that two wrongs don't make a right. My brother would steal my toys, I'd hit him, he'd go crying to Mum and we'd both get a telling-off. Ok so it's a huge oversimplification but you get my point?
  8. oh I love Deuchars IPA! Was in New York earlier this year and really like the Brooklyn Lager, had some when I got back to the UK and it was NASTY. Not sure if I just remembered it being nicer because I was holiday, or it just doesn't travel so well?
  9. I'd second Dish Dash, really really nice food. Also, the Rosendale has a bar menu which is cheaper than the restaurant menu.

I watched the last episode yesterday. The bit with Jonah made me cry. Twice. Apparently Chris Lilley did another series which had some of those characters in it-called 'We can be heroes' I think.
  11. Variable speed limits as on the M25 are a fairly new thing and I would imagine pretty expensive to implement over short stretches of road. Speed limit changes can be for loads of reasons, although I'm not sure catching out motorists is one of them. If the area's been identified as an accident blackspot then the change in speed limit could be a temporary measure until improvements are carried out, or maybe there are constraints which mean it can't be improved so a speed limit change is the next best thing. Also, highway design standards change over the years meaning that what was once acceptable as a 70mph road may not be under the new regulations. ooh I feel like a right geek now, no more roads chat for me.

If a road is lit then pretty sure it is a thirty speed limit unless sign posted otherwise
  13. Aah Boxes!! Although to be honest I spent most of my youth in Samantha's Nitespot in Exmouth :-$

    Great Gigs

Ah, poor you Anna! The upper level of the centenary were the same price, I guess the people sat near the Kop end had the same problem as you. What was the sound like there? We had a weird echo quite a lot of the time. Moral of the story, footie stadiums not ideal for gigs?!

    Great Gigs

Centenary, wasn't bad at all but yeah looked like the people on the pitch were having the most fun! Although it was lucky it had stopped raining by then.

    Great Gigs

I was at that too! Oh and hello everyone by the way.
  17. Hmmm, me cycling is prob not the best plan! Looking at the trains from ED they'd be ok for me, just a question of whether there is anywhere nice that is walkable to there and say Herne Hill for the Thameslink.
  18. Hello, My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving to East Dulwich in the autumn, I was wondering whereabouts would be a good place to start looking. I need to be close to a train station that gets me to East Croydon and he needs to get onto the Thameslink trains (but neither of us mind changing trains if needs be). Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks
