  1. Even better you get allocated the entire length of your house as a personal bay which you can then charge out to others and clamp. ?200 well worth it. Works for me, I get 4.
  2. "In the survey we've asked residents to tell us whether they think it should be related to CO2 emissions or not. What do you think?" Disgusting idea - wheel out the green arguments for the purposes of revenue generation why don't you, like the congestion charge. If you want to link the cost to anything at all at least have a tangible link between the cost and what you are trying to achieve. Availability of parking spaces comes down to the number and size of cars, and since we take as a given that numbers will probably not change much, then charge based on the length of the car. Since when did something chucking out more CO2 take up more space on the side of the street FFS.
  3. Agreed, it has been ?8 for ages, but I don't seem to remember getting a notification that the monthly sub was going to go up, which I'm sure is illegal as per direct debit rules.
  4. Lets hope they are going to lay on more trains - not so long ago they installed what looks like a footfall monitor on the entrance to the London Bridge platform so hopefully their number crunchers will realise just how many people are going up there at peak times in the morning.
  5. Well I'm sure I will try it again since the objective here is to get good meat, and hopefully the queue will subside quickly as you say - but the last times I went the queue took ages and inside it was a scramble to get to the counter and I ended up waiting behind people chatting with the butchers about God knows what. Maybe I was just missing the golden regular customer pass.
  6. I think you'll find a large piece of fillet and a few other bits for the week are considerably more than twenty quid. I'm not going to make the queue worse by writing out a cheque! My point is that they don't really go out of their way to make it a pleasant or efficient shopping experience.
  7. No reason to reduce the quality of the product or the staff working there, just seems to make sense given how many people might shop there if the situation was improved. Despite people bleating that they don't mind waiting in the queue, surely it would be preferable not to?
  8. Or maybe they should do the decent thing a get a bigger shop and start taking card payments. I'm sure I'm not alone in not shopping there because of the inconvenience of having to queue and remembering to take a stack of cash in case I want a slightly bigger piece of meat or an impulse additional purchase. They could clearly generate a much bigger customer base by doing this.
  9. You'll get warmth on the floor but also uniform convection straight up rather than the rad approach which pushes the warm air up and around from the side of the room. You have to make sure you get the correctly rated matting for the material you are going to lay on top...
  10. electric - very easy to install... just roll it out!
  11. Underfloor heating is excellent - put it in my last place and current kitchen. Pretty reasonably priced nowadays too, definitely worth doing.
  12. I fine idea Muttley - somebody do something!!
  13. Worse than the Foxtons cars are the "tourists" that clog up the local roads during the day when they drive in to use the station. Surely this is a good argument for permits - not small zones but just a permit for the area.
  14. You whingers should be pleased - all the people you dislike in one place thus keeping them safely away from your local pubs, for local people.

Do you also have a sideline in complaining about TV programs that you object to but equally are not forced to watch?
  16. You can usually get these people right down on price - my automatic renewal on buildings was up by 14% this year but after a bit of wrangling they went down to 7% less. This is through LloydsTSB brokers. The same with car cover (different firm), they'll usually try to sting you with an automatic renewal hoping you don't read it but then you call and they'll lower it pretty much without an argument.
  17. The clapham one was there a long time before ED and was a lot smaller
  18. Most of you seem to hate the Vale, I disagree. I went on Saturday for the semi final and it was excellent - they probably have more TVs and sight lines to them than anywhere. I was there for 5 and got a table right in front of the TV, but could probably have left it a little longer before arriving. Come 7.30 it was jam packed throughout and the atmosphere all through was excellent - a bit like watching in your front room but having a real crowd behind you. Maybe you'll see me on their TV come Saturday, I won't be watching it in ED!
  19. Yes they were round Melbourne/EDG area as well last night with some story about selling two items gaining them 5% off their college fees or some such crap.
  20. fair enough then - just struck me as odd that a car would pick her up and then call for backup - I doubt the van just happened to be there! I was just walking past so I don't know if there was any preamble but it certainly didn't look like it.
  21. I've just been to get some chips on northcross and on my way back to LL there were some coppers doing a girl (save it) for drink driving. Fair enough - but there was a car with two coppers in talking to her in addition to a VAN with others to take her away. Clearly drink driving is beyond reproach but why spend all the manpopwer on a lone girl when there are clearly more pressing problems locally? Is there some kind of police rule saying that there have to be several witnesses to any caution? I guess after today's reported de menezes admission there must be let alone an arrest or worse?
