Heating Your Water With Solar PV
lordshipmonkey replied to lordshipmonkey's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks for your comments some good food for thought. Really helpful. -
Hi all Was looking for any advice / personal experiences from people who have installed solar PV to their immersion heater. This would be of particular interest should it have been done to a terrace house in ED. Many thanks

Hi, I've some scrap metal for collection. Was hoping to avoid paying for removal as there should be residual value in the materials. It's been in my front garden for a week but sadly no one has taken it. Photo below. If anyone has any contacts/ideas then please let me know. Thanks

Hi, I've an early morning flight and would like a recommendation on a cab company that operates an airport service. Historically I used Panther Cars then the one on Lordship Lane near Goose Green but both have long closed. I did a google search and most of the local ones are less than 2 star rated so would like a recommendation. It's stressful enough flying ATM without worrying if the cab will turn up!

Cycle hoop bike hanger - bike stolen
lordshipmonkey replied to maria's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi, I've finally (having initially registered in 2016) been offered space in a cycle hoop that is conveniently located. While this great news and very exciting, I'm seeking advice from people that have used them in the past without issue. Despite posts like this are they generally safe? Should i use 1, 2 or even 3 locks (wheels and frame)? Do bikes get knocked around? -

Hi, Can anyone recommend an internal drain specialist. We have a couple of sections of drainpipe that are run internally within the walls and they need some work. Many thanks

For anyone looking to install a hardwood floor, i'd encourage you to speak to Dan at Alpine Flooring and ask for a quote. He has just installed a beautiful Oak Parquet in our house and we're very happy with his work. He was also flexible working with us and the other tradesmen we had on site. His website is here -> http://www.alpinewoodflooring.co.uk/ Or mobile -> 07759443858 Ed

Hi, I smashed by iPhone 6 screen recently and was mortified. Shopped around for the best value screen replacement service which started from ?80 for a send away service, looked into doing it myself but in the end did not fancy it.... then after some further googling and found Tawab on Gumtree, advert is linked below. I arranged a time and visited his place, although he will also come to you, he fixed it in front of me in about 10 minutes. Really nice guy covering the costs of his studies with this sideline. Screen and phone as good as new, only ?55. His number is 07761441956, i used WhatsApp. https://www.gumtree.com/p/phone-tablet-repair/iphone-6-6plus-5-5s-5c-and-4-4s-screen-repair-cheapest-in-london/1089196603

Dulwich Plumbing and heating quoted and completed a reasonably large job for me all in the space of a few days. Very tidy with quality, neat workmanship. Would highly recommend Dan and his team again - 07879220447. Ed

I'm planning a small party on Saturday night, 5th Nov. Not wanting to disappoint my guests I would like to let off some fireworks, however for maximum effect and for a bit more room I'd like to do this on Goose Green. As long as we are safe, sensible and tidy up afterwards is there any reason why I can't use the green?

Hi I'm entertaining my father on Saturday the 25th and wanted to take him on the excellent Meantime Brewery tour in the afternoon -> http://www.meantimebrewing.com/news-events/brewery-tours At the moment there are just 4 of us which is not enough for them to run the tour on a Saturday, so I was wondering if anyone else wanted to arrange their own small group to run in parallel or join our ours. Cost would be ?20 per head, I've been on the tour once before and it's nothing like the sterile marketing experiences of other brewery tours, this one is informative, run by real enthusiasts and there is lots of excellent beer to try. Let me know if your interested and I'll arrange with the Brewery. Thanks
