I contacted 007 handyman on Thursday and today Victor Jr and a colleague came round and carried out a number of jobs for me: installing wall lights, a roller blind, picture ledges, coat hooks, cleared my gutters and did several other bitty jobs. They were early, polite, cleaned up after themselves and I highly recommend them.

According to our local councillor this morning, they've encountered another problem so resurfacing won't start until Monday (30th) and they've allotted 3 nights for it so the earliest it will reopen is the 3rd May.

I used flooringsupplies.co.uk who have a showroom in Croydon (near Ikea). They also arranged a fitter who was brilliant and efficient and fitted the floor beautifully (my ground floor has a lot of funny angles).

Does anyone have any recommendations for fitting underfloor installation. The floor is several degrees colder and I'd like to correct this before next winter. Thanks.

I tried Marie's jam and it was lovely, not overly sweet but great flavour.

I needed to move and replace two radiators. I contacted three plumbers who all had multiple good recommendations on the forum, one was borderline rude and another never responded. Billy Hunter replied, came round to assess and quote, gave me advice on what I needed and on prep work that had to be carried out before he could move the radiators. He and his brother Scott did the work this week. They were professional, unfailingly polite and friendly, efficient, cleaned up once they finished and they also corrected some dodgy work carried out by other tradesmen. The radiators look great and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend them and I'll definitely be using them again.

Hi Claudiack, I use Dulwich Test and Service centre on Tyrrell Road. They've serviced and MOT'd my last two cars, are efficient, honest, reliable and price very fairly too.

I'd like to add to the recommendations for Dave. I called him about a damp problem after seeing his recommendations on here. He arrived early, talked me through what he would need to do, caused minimal mess, reduced his original quote as the job was more straightforward than first seemed and gave me free advice on a couple of areas that I was concerned about. I wouldn't hesitate to use Dave again.

I can't remember if I recommended Oskar at the time, but in May he and his team replaced my garden fence which was in a poor condition, trimmed back the bushes that grew alongside the old fence, took all of the rubbish away with him and washed down the muddy patio. I can't recommend him highly enough.

I used Angel Upholstery on Melbourne Grove to upholster a footstool for me and they did a beautiful job.

After seeing recommendations on here I contacted Craig regarding moths which the previous owner had allowed to take hold in the house. His quote was very reasonable compared to a few others that I sourced and included a follow up option. He came early on Saturday morning to spray my house with the promise that if I see any survivors he would come back as many times as needed within 3 months to eradicate them. So far, so good.

I used Oscar a couple of weeks ago who was recommended on another thread - 07545 372421. His team came in, installed a new fence to replace storm damaged sections, trimmed two trees and took the whole lot with them.

Until last year I lived on the even numbered side and looking at the house from the road I was responsible for the right hand side.

I may have to move in the new year and wanting to stay in SE22 my budget is at the new build end of the market. Looking online, of the 20 houses in SE22 that are within my budget, 13 are on or around Abbotswood Road and I wondered why so many people are trying to sell up from there at the moment. Is it because of the proposed redevelopment of DHFC or is it to do with the quality of the houses themselves?
