  1. Hey, we love the Rajah Rowing Team - but has anyone else noticed their deliveries have got really slow recently? Used to be really prompt and would always overestimate how long it would take to arrive. Now it's late arrival, no apology. New management?
  2. Just to make a point already made: these roadworks are really really dangerous. I saw a little girl yesterday almost get hit by a car coming around the corner too fast. Was pretty frightening. A tragedy narrowly missed.
  3. Anyone else noticed the sudden and quite random cloud of flying ants all along barry road this evening? Any ideas? Their annual migration to elsewhere? Or something else...?!
  4. Hi, just wanted to give a quick recommendation for Jen at wwww.bespokecakeslondon.com who made some delicious dairy free cupcakes for my little one's birthday. Absolutely delicious (you'd never know they were dairy free) and they looked beautiful too. :-)
  5. Reached at least to Barry Road...
  6. Yup - Jose at All Seasons Gardening is great and has done exactly this sort of thing for us. Lovely bloke too. http://www.allseasonsgardeninglondon.co.uk/gardening or 07733 658 817
  7. I've just been to Kuki for the first time and had a great cut by Janviere, who is their new stylist. I'd really recommend her, and the place in general. Really friendly vibe.
  8. Another vote for the Gardens (if you are in its catchment on Copleston?). All the doctors there are wonderful. Another thumbs down for Melbourne Grove - never saw the same doctor twice and didn't like many of the ones I did see!
  9. Odette at Dulwich Therapy Rooms! x
  10. I had a really nasty experience on Rye Lane today where a deranged screaming mad men (drugged up, I presume) nearly ran me over, then slammed out his car, cornered me and then followed me on foot down Rye Lane, screaming as he went. Pretty scary. I wanted to thank the group of people - both commuters heading to the ED bus stop, and the Peckham locals, who stood up for me and in some cases, risked danger by putting themselves physically between the mad man and myself. I fled as soon as his attention was diverted, so didn't get the chance to thank those people. It's really heartening to know there are good people out there, willing to help a stranger. This is on the off-chance any of them read the forum!
  11. Yup. Anorak. They're hiring in ED: http://www.anorakonline.co.uk/job-vacancies-i38
  12. In case anyone hasn't seen this, Tfl are asking for votes about potential routes for extending the Bakerloo Line, including an option via Peckham Rye and Camberwell. You can vote online. https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/tube/bakerloo-extension (I don't work for Tfl - just thought lots of people on here might have a view!)
  13. We are really happy with Lordship Lane vets - gave good advice and a thorough service.
  14. I would like to recommended Jose from All Seasons Gardening who is a gardener, decorator, all round handyman. He put up a side gate for us in a tricky location and did a really good job. He's done a variety of jobs for our neighbours too - gardening, fixing paths, fixing fences etc and everyone has been really pleased with his work. He is also very friendly and trustworthy. He's on [email protected]
  15. Hi Dan, little bit of feedback for you. I think it is very disappointing that your ed store on North Cross Road doesn't offer refunds (except where items are faulty etc). I bought my husband a sweater and it didn't fit. Your store had run out of the right size, so I asked for a refund. Not possible, I'm told. Credit note only. I understand that you might think that you make more money that way - people shopping for gifts as surely most of your customers are doing will often get the wrong size - as you catch them out by not allowing them a refund. But I think it's really shortsighted and money-grabbing. I'll certainly be thinking twice before I buy any more gifts from your stores. Disappointed customer!
  16. Yes, Pugwash it's a problem but I don't accept that "it's a no" to speed bumps because of buses. The safety of all the residents, especially children, is more important. Something really needs to be done. Hope James is recovering.
  17. We sold through Winkworths and they did a really good job - sold the flat BEFORE it was even on the market, for asking price. (They had a stock of buyers who they knew would be keen.) And were generally efficient to deal with too. I'd agree with others about avoiding KFH though. We bought our new place through them and had a terrible experience - seemed to be a total lack of organisation (ignoring calls/emails and forgetting appointments), and we found them generally really unpleasant to deal with - KFH's approach in our case was probably best summed up as 'ignorant harassment' (ie, 'i'll ignore all your messages about important issues that need progressing, but harass you generally anyway'). I'm pretty sure the people selling the property we were buying found them pretty frustrating too.
  18. Yes, we nearly sold our place through KFH. Instead we sold it through Winkworths and I'm really glad we did - they were generally pretty efficient and did what they said they'd do. We did buy our new place through KFH, however, and... I'm afraid we were not at all impressed!!! Our experience was that KFH were incredibly disorganised (forgetting about appointments, no replies to emails etc) and really unpleasant to deal with too. They seemed to think the best approach to getting a property sold is to bully the buyers, not realising that most (intelligent) people 'smell a rat' and get suspicious if they're being harassed into doing something - especially something which is as expensive as buying a property. KFH's approach also means that we definitely won't use them when we come to sell our current place. Doh.
  19. Yup, lots of waking up for me too! Looking forward to meeting you ladies tomorrow.
