  1. Have been to India (Varkala, Kerala) with a one year old and again when he was two, immaculate clean beaches, amazing accomodation and food, great healthcare and wonderful people! Really easy to get to from Trivandrum airport (pre-pay cab around 2000 rupees). Had such a wonderful time and will be back in India with toddler in tow later this year!
  2. I must say I am surprised at the number of people raving about Ganapati, after several attempts I have yet to have a decent meal and some dishes are among the worst south Indian food I have eaten in this country. The total lack of ambience, the awful attitude and teeny portions don't make for a great night. Will still be heading North for decent south Indian fare.
  3. I would absolutely love this and would be happy to run a stall.
  4. I really like spice republic, up near what used to be the harvester, it's reliable and yummy and have loads of veggie dishes...
  5. Slightly baffled as to the assumption that someone who claims housing benefit contributes nothing to society? Presumably people in low paid jobs which are needed should also have to commute several hours to work? Must say I'm slightly surprised to see such small mindedness.
  6. Dawson's Heights is kept in remarkably good condition, this is possibly due to its listed (or soon to be listed status) as I understand it it is grade 2. Structurally and superficially huge amounts of cash have been pumped into the estate over the last few years so simply can't understand why anyone wouldn't offer a mortgage, how odd.
  7. Just been up on our roof to have a look, we guess that it's over putney/richmond way but not sure...whatever it is it is very very much on fire!
  8. I must agree the plough does serve disgustingly bad food the majority of the time and the staff leave a lot to be desired for the most part...I have yet to eat a decent meal since the change of managment in what could be a lovely pub. Shame really as the quiz is fab and the garden really rather pleasant.
  9. Cassius " Please don't feed the foxes - they are enough of a pest without being encouraged. You don't have a garden, but I do, and have had more than enough of fox poo, cubs destroying plants, whatever." Erm I meant feeding the birds....was just saying that they visit my area along with other wildlife...
  10. There is a lovely woodpecker that flits around near my flat on overhill rd also huge array of commonly spotted birds, bluetits, robins, parakeets and all sorts. Also a vixen and her now quite large cub can be seen slinking around late at night. I don't have a garden so feeding them is tricky but they seem to turn up regardless! As for the kingfisher I'll keep my eyes peeled...
  11. I saw him in the village rather a lot over the last couple of summers especially outside the pub in the late afternoons, perfectly lovely chap with some superb onions! Glad to see he has strayed into ED
  12. I must admit Pizza Express is usually a little cringe-worthy and the food a bit predictable, but then the village isn't really my thing. Think I'll nip down to the co-op....
  13. I don't go into cafe nero/starsmhucks type places simply because they are unbearably dull. Close it down by all means, but for the love of coffee don't let one of the other big boys take it's place. LL is still a bastion of independent shops...let's try to preserve that for as long as possible before we are inundated with bloody McDonalds and the rest of them.
  14. I have just started cycling from the top of Lordship Lane into Aldwych but haven't found a decent route...any suggestions? Any help at all would be really appreciated! It definately beats going to the gym and even in the rain and howling wind I still feel much better than being sat on the stuffy bus in traffic!
  15. *ears prick up at the mention of scrabble!* I know it's a little off topic but could anyone fill me in on the details? Can anyone come along and gatecrash? :)
  16. LL could do with many more things than rubbish mushy shops that sell nothing but faux social status symbols. Although I think there's a niche in the market here for a trAID or summing :)
  17. Gosh, I can't stand the Rosendale, bad service rude staff and awful fodder! Also when a family held a wake there after the premature death of a friend the staff were unbearable bordering on nasty. Highly insensitive types. Oh well, plenty more bars in ED!
  18. Mr fluffy spent many years living in Islington and now resides in sunny ED...I think it's safe to say that transport wis eIslington wins but is utterly unaffordable.
  19. He he he he, I am new here but if it always as ridiculous as this then I think I might just move in! Mic...what a stud muffin! he he he *tries to find hankie for tears rolling down face*
