  1. Wondering where people have heard such awful things about Dawsons Heights? Very quiet, occasional music etc but never late at night. Fly tipping from outside residents dealt with swiftly by in house staff. On site caretakers 24/7. Usually just lots of resident kids playing outside and enjoying independent play in one of the few places in London where kids can still safely just go out and play on their own. No idea where this 'crime rules' idea has come from, simply doesn't exist.
  2. Had it been about 100 times larger I'd agree, but 15 cars and a unbelievably rude guy on the gate is laughable. Also why a police presence?!
  3. Very surprised at how utterly dreadful it was. ?1 entry a few cars selling below par tat and naff all else. Shall be sticking with places with actual stock and less rude door staff.
  4. We also have bees nesting in our wall so currently keeping living room windows shut, we were told that to remove them they would have to be destroyed so I'll happily put up with shut windows instead. Also I'm guessing it's no coincidence that plants on our roof that hadn't flowered much before are now in full bloom!
  5. So so disappointed, food is AWFUL. Was pretty bad before but with the new 'foodie focus' I thought maybe it would be better. Clearly I was wrong. Also dreadful attitude from the staff yesterday when someone else was complaining about being hugely overcharged. Shame as it could be so lovely and is in such a good location.
  6. Don't think so, but there is the Plough tomorrow or the Clockhouse on Tuesdays.
  7. Snappy snaps camberwell green are pretty good at not making you look too dreadful!
  8. Unfortunately won't be able to make the meeting and am currently unable to leave as in the middle of a referral process (although will be jumping ship as soon as I can!) Does anyone know if there is a process of submitting a statement to the 'listening committee' prior to the meeting? Although doubtful they will take the blindest bit of notice.
  9. I need an electrician to move an electric shower and do an electricity safety certificate. Having the bathrooms re-tiled in the near future so it seemed the best time to get the shower moved. Any recommendations greatly appreciated, cheers.
  10. Couldn't agree more with the exception of one GP who is marvellous. The reception staff are better than they once were (believe it or not!) but I have also been perturbed by overhearing discussing patients from the waiting area. Also routinely wait an hour beyond scheduled time to be seen. Shambles.
  11. Hi looking for a tiler to do a wall in a small bathroom and re-do another tiny shower room, also need new loo and recess shower fitting and a vanity unit building to cover pipework under two sinks...HELP!!! I have contacted a couple of people who were recommended however after a week of trying to reach them no joy so I thought I'd see if anyone on here could recommend or do the work. Thanks.
  12. Yes that is frustrating that the machine doesn't work, but you know that so why not just go to the cash point on your way home instead of ranting on here? A simple heads up about the machine would have been more than adequate. I'll still be ordering from Lombok, the food is lovely and I have no issue paying cash as my meals don't cost hundreds of pounds. The service from the delivery guys and the guys on the phone has always been fine.
  13. Are any bars holding an anti-jubilee party? Went to an excellent punk one the last time the country was saluting Queenie and it was light hearted and lots of fun, would definitely be up for another this time around. Or we could hold one ourselves, fellow republicans?
  14. > If you are talking about the two South Indian > restaurants in Drummond Street (one is the Ravi > Shankar, can't remember the name of the other one > but they are both owned by the same people, I > think) I can't believe that you think they are > better than Ganapati! > > A comparison with Indian Mischief would be more to > the point, as the Drummond Street restaurants > mainly do dhosas. They do have the best almond > kulfi I've ever tasted, though. Diwana on Drummond st does a pretty wide menu, but it is the dosas that I go for most as I miss them so much :). But their thalis and rasam are good too. Ravi Shankar and Chutnies aren't nearly as good, but thanks for the Kulfi tip! Must say Ganapati has never impressed me, so have given up on it entirely. Shame as I would like to like it but I just can't get used to the awful service and the incredibly hit and miss food.
  15. Oooh, thanks for that, I will definitely give them a go!
  16. Love Jaflong, Si Mangia and the Silk road in Camberwell, must say I've been utterly underwhelmed by Ganapati though, if you want decent South Indian food it seems one still has to go to Euston, unless there are some hidden South London gems I am unaware of?!
  17. That is usually to hold the thread taut, it isn't to be used in contact with the eyebrow but to give the correct tension to pull out all those stray hairs. Threading is quick, clean and I absolutely love it.
  18. I am so baffled by the cab, it stank something rotten when I walked up there (well crawled up really) yesterday. Perhaps has been moved out of the area where they have been building? It looks decrepit.
  19. The horticultural college is attached to the farm but the farm itself is still very much there! Great animal areas and close to the 'dinosaurs' in the lake too! There is also an 'exotic' animal area (snakes, fish etc) if you're brave enough to go in...
