Every time I open my front door at this time of year the beautiful scent of the Daphne flowers reminds me that I owe it to my gardener to sing his praises. It makes such a difference to have someone that really knows all there is to know about plants, flowers and all things gardening to design and maintain our surroundings. We recently had new cornicing fitted by Simon (The Cornice Man, http://www.thecorniceman.co.uk) which was made to match existing cornicing in an adjoining space. Simon was very professional, prompt (even for the initial visit/quote), kept us informed of everything in advance and fitted the new cornicing beautifully, especially given our very old walls which were in worse condition than expected. We are very happy with his work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Simon 07761 006002

Hi, I'm also expecting my second baby, due mid July. I'm also not planning to do NCT again and would love to meet up with others. -
We can highly recommend Donn Ehrlich and his team for garden design and maintenance. We have had them looking after our garden for a few years and have always been very pleased with his service, design, advice and professionalism. He has extensive (and passionate) knowledge of all plants/trees/flowers in our garden, provides drawings of proposed designs and ideas, and discusses how to maintain the garden in between his visits. He has also designed the layout of our garden lights which we are very pleased with. We have received numerous compliments on our garden (front and back) from visitors and passers-by who enquire who looks after our garden as it always looks beautiful, winter and summer. Donn's number is 07866 241606

I can highly recommend Rosie Shaw for upholstery. I found a recommendation or her off this forum and so glad I looked here to find someone. We have a built in daybed which required some out-the-box thinking for covering it. Rosie made an exquisite covering for the mattress, with button-upholstered side and back panels. Her attention to detail was beautiful when working with the fabric. She also made some cushions for us. We are already in the process of having further work done by Rosie and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for upholstery services. http://rosieshawupholstery.co.uk

Jason BackToBare Wood floor sanding / rennovation
sct replied to hallah's topic in Request a Tradesperson
I would also like to add my recommendation for Jason. Our hallway was transformed by Jason and Thomas. We asked them to do a job which was not so straight forward since our hallway is L-shaped and had a concrete floor in one section (and variable height differences between the rooms off the hallway). They were nice guys to have in our home and they did an amazing job of laying reclaimed boards, replacing existing damaged boards, filling gaps, sanding, staining and coating. They were tasked with matching the stain of existing wooden flooring in an adjacent room (finished 5 years ago) which they did really well. They also cleaned up at the end of the day. We are very pleased with the results and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to have their wooden floors done. -
I would also like to add my recommendation for Paul. I found his details on this thread when our mac laptop broke and called him. He was able to come to the house quite promptly, diagnosed the issue and after taking it away for a couple of days he returned it in a better state than it was before it broke. His pricing is very reasonable, I will certainly be calling him if ever we have a mac or pc problem again. Very glad I checked the forum for recommendations and found him!

Hi, just wanted to add my recommendation for Busybee. After moving to the area a couple of years ago and not knowing where to find a good, reliable and inexpensive mobile beautician I found a recommendation for Busybee on the forum. I've been really happy with all my treatments (threading, tinting, waxing, mani, pedi), and always manage to get an appointment with her within a couple of days (often on the day!). Highly recommended :-)

Hi We have recently had a very tired room redecorated and Roger Andre (07411515744) was excellent, we are very pleased with the result. Friendly, efficient, tidy and well priced. Highly recommended. PM me if you would like to see photos. Hope this helps

A big thank you to everyone that emailed with offers to borrow a car seat. I was able to borrow one in time for our guest's arrival and planned car journeys. It's a great forum to have and comforting to know there is a strong community feel, especially in times of need!

Hi I have friends arriving tonight with a 23 month old and the car seat I was loaned by a friend turns out to be broken! I'd be very grateful if anyone had one I could borrow until Friday, happy to pay for the use (and a deposit). Many thanks

Great, I'll book Rocca for Thurs 17th October, shall we say 19:30? We can wait for those who can only make it around 8 before ordering. I'll book for 10 and change the numbers closer to the time if need be. See you all then/there! PS: the booking will be under Taylor, although I imagine a table for 10 should be very easy to spot :-) Thanks for the offer of a lift although I won't need one ;-) -

We could also go somewhere like Rocca in Dulwich Village if that's not too inconvenient for most people to get to? -

Hi everyone Looks like the 17th is a better date for most of us. Strawbs, Jimnem, Emma does that evening work for you? I'll give ToastED a call later today or tomorrow to book and I'll let you know when it's confirmed. x -

If 23rd doesn't work for all, there is also the 17th or 24th? Lets see what the general consensus is and hopefully get something organised soon :-) -

Hi everyone It looks like evenings work best for everyone, I am happy to arrange our first meetup. If Lordship Lane suits everyone we could go to ToastED (I've not been before so I don't know what it's like, but I hear it's nice). Or if anyone would prefer a different location/place let me know. Wednesday or Thursday nights are good for me, shall we try a Wednesday night in mid to late October, say 16th or 23rd Oct? Looking forward to meeting everyone. -

Hi, I am expecting my first in early March. I am interested in finding out about antenatal yoga in the area, and if anyone also expecting in Spring would like to meet up for coffee sometime.
